I love the new beta however, i think i missed something critical.

Hi folks, just wanted you to know im very impressed with the latest ver. of Sins. However ive hit a bit of a snag. I cant seem to find a menu or such to tell my Trade ships to avoid certain systems. One of my problems really comes from me not expanding as fast as the AI does.

In Space Empires V, you can tag systems so your ships avoid them (Eg. black holes, bad nebulas or enemy areas) I cant seem to find any way to tell my automated trade ships to do that. Its allmost as if they are coded to take the quickest way first, instead of the safest (through your own territory instead of an opponents).

The only example i can offer is my current save game. My newest colony is 2 jumps away from my capitol. There are two paths for the ships to go through, One takes it through an enemy sector that i have yet to conquer (even with 5 darn capitol ships i cant overtake the system..seesh i suck!) and the other is a longer path but leads through my controlled planets.

If there isnt a system block feature maybe the programmers/devs could add one someday, or maybe even just change the path priorities of the trade ships (as if it were a simple thing.) It would be a lot easier on our trade routes if we could actually have some control over where the AI wants to send our valued ore and income.

Im just offering feedback, not trying to cause chaos.

There isn't currently any means of setting the trade routes, but there has been talk of giving the player more control of those ships.

this is nescessary, sometimes a player can farm adjacent trade routes for ship experience (and in some cases, either trading with yourself or with an ally when the computer bugs) it cannot be turned off!

that bug I was speaking of: trade ships still going when a trade alliance is cut between two "locked" allies.

Ok not a problem ill adjust my strategy so to speak to try to avoid any un-necessary trade routes. Might hurt the economy somewhat but it beats seeing my ships evaporated due to my bad planning lol. Hopefully a feature to fine tune/control the trade routes will be introduced in later betas.

thank you

That is a bug. Tradeships are not supposed to travel through enemy territory.

Yeah I want to tell them where to trade!

Close encounters, I held both ice planets, and trade ships routed through the enemy asteroid. Should be easy enough to reproduce.

Personally, I like the automation. Unless its doing a really bad job and I just don't realize it, that is...

Btw, they still do this.

This is when screenshots are good, because nobody else apparently has seen it.

Neutral != enemy, by the way :P

I'll try to get a screen up of a trade ship jumping into an enemy planet sometime, since trade ships don't have visibility.

You can see the jump order line on one of the trade ships and you can see another trade ship coming from the enemy planet, locked teams.
