Stock Market???

Odd entries in the Statistics view

After finishing a single-player game, I reviewed each of the statistics entries. Two of them caught my eye:

"Credits gained from the stock market"
"Credits spent on the stock market"

The AI players spend a decent amount of money on this!

I cannot find any "stock market" in the current in-game UI. More the point, a Google search, and a search of these forums, can find no reference to the stock market feature at all! No previews, press releases, forum questions, etc... did they just expose a new "mystery feature" in beta 3?

Stock market = the buy/sell for metal/crystals on the diplomacy screen, atleast thats what im thinking/have heard/seen, then again i didnt think the AI used this...

No I dont think that is it. Cause you cant 'buy' any resources outside the black market.

Yeah, that could be it, considering that that money gained/spent isn't represented, that I can tell, in the statistics. It seems odd to refer to the black market as a "stock market" though... maybe there's more to come?

No there are two different statistics for each one.

Yeah, that's at least part of it - the money you get from selling on the black market shows up in "Credits gained on the stock market", at least.

Yeah i think i noticed the stock market tab in beta 2... so i it isnt new(if my memory serves me). i remember seeing it and thinking the same thing to myself but the conversation in my head wound up concluding that there is porbably a stock market feature that the devs have yet to make official. it could be the stock market is just a back ground game mechenism that helps determin what prices are and how much you get for trade and tourism and what not. when it says money spent and money erned maybe its reffering to some back ground happenings with your trade centers... but honestly we dont know. at least thats just what the voices in my head were saying they do however think we'll be seeing more of this "stock market" explaned in later releases

I want to know what it does too.

maby it allows us to buy stock from other ppl's empires, so if we buy the majority share holdings we can "Buy" the other person's empire.

It gives more and specified information about stuff.

At least that's what we were told.
