Depends on what resolution you plan to use, but you definitely shouldn't have any problems.

1600x1200 is planed but I can use 1440x900 also.

I think you will be ok

Should be okay for the beta. That card may have some issues with the final game, but you should still be able to crank things up pretty nicely.

As in doesn't supported needed features, or as in it doesn't have the power to run it at max?

I've got only 1.7 Ghz CPU...

Will it run?

The later most likely. I don't see supported features specs changing, but when we get the two other races in performance is sure to take a dive.

Here are the minimum and recommended specs for Sins beta 3.

Minimum: Windows XP SP2/Vista, 1.8 GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM (1 GB for Vista), 128 MB DirectX 9 3D Video Card, DirectX 9.0c or higher;
Recommended: 2.4 GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM (2 GB RAM for Vista), 256 MB DirectX 9 3D Video Card, LAN or Broadband Internet Connection for Online Multiplayer.

As you can see the bare minimum is a 1.8 GHz CPU, you may be able to run it but it likely isn't going to run well, all depending on the rest of the system as well.

As Nova said, the X1600 probably won't have the horsepower to run the final game with Highest textures and high-res. Still, it should do pretty well at Medium or even decent with High textures at 1280x1024.

A 1.7GHz CPU should do alright (may slow down late-game), but it'll depend on what the rest of the system's specs are.

What the other two overlooked is that we really need to know what your CPU architecture is -- 1.7 GHz P4 is a lot slower than a 1.7 GHz Core 2 Duo. In fact, a 1 GHz core 2 duo would probably defeat a 3 GHz P4 pretty handily!

There isn't any Core 2 Duo at 1.7 GHz that I'm aware of. There's a mobile chip at 1.6 GHz and 1.8 GHz though. So he likely has some shoddy AMD/Intel chip unfortunately.

I have a 2.8 prosesor,
xp,

and 1.5 gig ram

AND IT STILL LAGS!!!!

...stragly enough, only when I have a ship selected.......

That is not necessarily true   There are a lot of optimizations that have yet to take place.

Good.

Given that there is not a model of video card, with the Ati Radeon 9600, 256mb be able to handle this game?

The rest of the specs are:

XP Sp2
P4 3ghtz
768 Ram

(yeah, I know, I could use a massive upgrade)

Thanks everyone for your comments. Will check the exact specifications tonights. I do have 512 Ram but am not sure about the video card.

I don't mind if i have to lower the graphics...most important is the gameplay.

Should do okay. You'll just have to turn down the texture settings a bit.

How well will i be able to run the game with this:

3.0 Ghz Processor

Nvidia 7300GT

1 Gb of RAM

Thanks!

Depends on how much more demanding the final game is, but I've run beta with high textures on a computer which is identical except that it has a 6800 gts with scads more video ram than stock.

Hi guys;
A simple question; though my fairly new laptop could run this game (3gig ram, 8600M GT, 2.2 centrino duo...) at rec. quite easily, i take it my desktop with specs 512Ram, 2.8gig P4, and Radeon 9600 wouldn't be able to run much higher that minimum graphics? Or would it stall even at those low levels? I've come to be a bit wary of system spec requirements lately, that's all :P
Thanks for the input, guys...

Btw, I'm pleased to see so many people on here spell "definitely" with an "i" and not an "a"... certainly encouraging online.

Thanks again!

Your desktop might be able to hold out, but I doubt it has enough RAM.
Your desktop is going to have issues because it's RAM limited. If you upgrade its RAM it should do okay.

Don't know what your video card is to say how the game will run for certain, but that much is just fine (same as my old machine).
