Bugs off the port bow!

First, my specs:

Core 2 Duo E6400
2GB RAM
8800GTS
Sound Blaster Audigy Pro
Dual monitors (I run in windowed mode)

A few bugs I've ran into while playing Beta 3:

In multiplayer games (and perhaps SP), about 75% of the time I will have no sound from units. Voices and unit sounds, as well as engines, ambient sounds, etc etc will be gone. Clicks and menu stuff still sound, however, as well as music.

Second, the scrolling seems to be broken sometimes. Sometimes it will be ultra-sensitive and zoom in extremely fast, and sometimes it will only zoom to a certain level slowly before refusing to go any farther. This is in top down view as well, so I have to assume it's a bug.

MP is a little wonky because either it'll work fine and lag for about 30 seconds at the start of the game (without telling you it's loading assets or whatever it's doing) with nobody knowing what's going on until it stops and everything loads up. When it doesn't work, it doesn't tell you why: only that you disconnected from the game server. Firewall problems? Disconnected. The host just forgot to put up a game? Disconnected. This is a little frustrating when you're not the host.

There's also a very minor issue with the pirates. Even if you currently have control of the base (with everything wiped out), it will seemingly still spawn raid fleets from that area (even though they're not visible). Me and a friend had wiped out the pirate base and cleared all ships from the area, but I still got the message that a raid fleet was incoming and had to fight it off.

Overall, I'm pleased with Beta 3 and find it much better than Beta 3, but the sound problem is very off-putting and the scrolling thing is annoying occasionally too.

Just thought I'd post this to see if anyone else had these problems and if they could be fixed!

Oops, I meant "better than Beta 2". It would be difficult to be better than itself.

Odds are thats the same problem I have: the game doesn't bother to wait for anyone else to finish loading the game before it "starts" itself -- and then makes you wait for everyone else to get in before it unpauses.

Edit: And in our game together, Blair admitted that needed fixing

I believe these are all fixed in the upcoming patch (early next week is the current estimate).

It is possible these were insurgents?  or a pirate base in another solar system?

Doubt they were insurgents - nobody had really gotten that far in the game, and it said that there was a pirate fleet about to be launched and then later the message about them incoming. And the pirate base was only connected to one planet, and every other one of those planets had been taken by either me or my ally, so we'd detect em if they were coming through there from the sun to the planet. I just thought it weird that we could send a mega-fleet in comprising nearly all our ships to finally get rid of the pirates and then they could send a fleet from seemingly nowhere to rain death and explosions on our colonies.

What map was it? We are trying to track this as we speak.

It was Systems of War.
