with 10.202+ ships:
depends on how i run it. If the game is not paused i get around 0-3fps depending on how many units is produced and moving.
If the game is paused i get 1-3 fps BUT if i remove the UI i get 40fps.
If i enable cinematic i get 0-1fps BUT if i remove the UI i get 2-5fps.

It first started to lag around the 1318 ships

Which means, if you were to zoom in and try to watch all those ships shooting something, your video card probably would melt

I stopped at 10.202 ships as it started to take too long to just get another 100 ships.


oh no not at all, it only lags when the ships is moving. ill show some images with all the 10.202 ships.

If it drops to 0-1 fps just when they're moving, it will do worse when they're shooting

I updated the savegame where all the ships arnt moving so it becomes easier for ppl to try it out.

My experiance with this is the CPU limitation, as the game only uses a single core for now, i expect the number to get higher when we see the dual core support

As my quad only runs at 2.66Ghz maybe one witha dual on 3.5Ghz can run it better then me...

It's probably a bit of both. Since the modern cards have their own GPUs doing all the rendering and effects instead of relying on the CPU to do it, I would actually guess it's a limitation of the video card than CPU. Probably most easily exemplified by you gaining a huge FPS boost when you remove the UI. The CPU usage of the game shouldn't change, but the video card won't need to slave overtime to redraw 9000 little icons constantly
