Heh, thanks for this. I got 2 questions though:
1. When the ships are like that, are they just moving between planets? Im confused, don't you have to phase jump to get between planets?
2. So you modded it to get this many ships, this is exactly what I was talking about in the other thread regarding the cap. This has just allayed all my worries, as you just prooved its possible
3. (ok so I lied, 3 questions not 2 >_>). What does disabling the UI do? What do you actually see if you do that?

hehe your welcome

1. phase jump happens automatically when you exit a gravity well to go to another planet, asteroid/belt, the sun ect.

2. Blair even said it would be possible for 100.000 ships, just 10.000 at each planet ill try it soon

3. Disabling the UI means that we are just removing the control panel so to say, its good for screenshot

Ive add 10.000 more ships to the system so the number is now 20.368 ships

also i think im reaching somekind of limit for a system, as the game starts to flicker and at times i get a c++ error.

actually i think about 20k at a sector is more or less the limit as i were getting screen flickers and c++ errors at times.

I doubt it, at that point the sheer number of calculations done simply to recognize the existance of a ship... I think that at this point data simply would be too big not to degrade to the point where, well, C++ errors occur.

sorry no can do, it already takes several hours just to move them, so getting them into enemy territory would take days if not longer. But i agree it would be cool to watch

Ill try later on and do a 1000 vs 1000 ships instead
