the color of space in the game i don't like the black because i cant see anything except the ship i am zoomed in on, the planet, the cap yard if the ship i am zoomed in on is close enough, and any ships that are top of the one i am zoomed in on.

Toggle deep space skyboxes off in the options.

Don't turn off the bright skybox option too, or you'll get nothing but dark space with stars. That one needs to be on.

the phase lines are not showing up. and the planets next door are not showing up.


what i mean is that they are there you just cant really see them unless you have zoomed out far enough to see the whole system. and then just barely.

Hmm, can you send us a screenshot? That sounds like a bug.

yeah its reaaaallllyyyyy a problem when you are stuck cammanding 100 + ships u cant see by the arrows showing you were thay are moving this "bug" if you will needs to be fixed. im seeing if by reinstalling the game if it will work when thats done ill take a screen and post it here ive had pretty (good) if you will luck at getting it to happen. so ill get one up here shortly.

Howdy guy I too have problem with this, although I took many screens, I messed up somehow on the upload to imageshack, havent done it for so long I forgot what to do I guess. Anyhoo, I shall describe.

In my case, whatever this is occur in three stages. The first occurs when I am at the high levels of zoom (ie I am zoomed out), the planets and stars appear grayed out (like you see when you first start the game and click a button to start). While I can still see everything, it is hard tomake out specifics plus you have to zoom in a bit to see the planet info. At the mid levels of the zoom when you should see the little 2d icons, there is nothing. It is as if all my stuff is just gone. At the close ups an I do mean close up ( the zoom where you can make out the rendering on frigates) I can see the ships but only as iff I was looking through a pair of binoculars. By this I mean that it shows a small area and the area surronding that is obscured or unseen all together. In order to see my ships, I have to be zoom so close so that I can see the rivets that hold them together. Well... not really but I have to be preety close if I want to see more then 2 ships. Even with the extreme zoom, it is like looking into a heavy fog where you can see some far away shapes of large ojects, but everything that is relevent to you immidiate situation is covered by it and unseen after a few yards.

That is the best I can do with no pics, anyhoo. Yall have a good one. I am looking forward to playing the game, but this is really a drag that makes me not want to play the game which is sad since the game is entertaining.

ok heres pretty much the best i could muster i had a series of 4 that really explained the situation well but i couldnt figure out how to effectively host multiple images so i condensed it into one. if one looks at the screen they will see the red attack arrows of my fleet... unfortunatly i didnt have the planet scroll out open so you cant see the exact number of ships but trust me there were quite a few. now if i zoomed in pretty much all the way in (untill my carrier filled about 2/3 of the screen all other ships would pop in. my carrier and the larger structures will apear if you zoom in until (for reference) the vasari carrier fills up maybe 1/8 of the screen so you have to be pretty close just to get cap ships to show up and even closer for frigates wich of course makes it difficult to comand. another thing you might notice is that there are no unit cards. once again i have another screen that shows another planet not too far in the same system were you can see the unit cards from just about any view (save really far out were it condenses into the planet card). hope that helps

Thats an old problem, I've been reporting it since beta 2. Don't know what triggers it, and its usually not save-game reproduceable (Still, at least others are having the trouble now, maybe someone will figure it out!)

looks like imageshack reformated their system. i use to use the third setting this last time i had to use the 2nd setting.

The all black look with the Vasari is sorta creepy, its like they are invisible

those missing lanes were in there for a while and puff they were gone. some new weapon i guess.

yeah im having the exact problem as well but its only on certain planets really. sorta strange. but the units themselves disapear unless im really close to them as well.

Yup -- thats been happening since beta 2, certain planets would just suddenly break down for their icon replacement of models. Sometimes save-game reproduceable, sometimes not.

Very oddly - i restarted the comp and it all went away... I could play as usual. Confused (but very very very very happy!)

see i did the same actitaly i only had to restart the game itself and it works (almost) perfectly save it has a problem with it ob mostly larger galaxies. ive played out almost a whole game on random small without a single hitch but larg huge and sometimes medium it happens and after a while of play it will happen again after you restart the game to get rid of it.

On random maps with more than 1 star this happens sometimes. Especially if worlds in 1 star system are very close to the next star system. It is a known issue.

ok then they shouldn't have put all of the stars on top of each other. at least they have been in this beta.
