Bug: Ships chasing each other out of gravity wells

I've noticed this occasionally, but this time it's gotten a little extreme. I'm playing the "Entanglement" map with two fixed teams, TEC vs. Vasari. At one asteroid (Rezia, I'm not sure if the names are random on set maps), AI ships have been chasing each other far outside of the well, and it takes them forever to get back if they do try. They keep sending more ships, too. There's a long chain of ships, all chasing each other into oblivion.

I have a saved game if you guys want it.

I have been noticing this a lot too, usually with my larger fleets. It looks like someone takes the enemy ship and drags it a certain distance away from your fleet and then your fleet chases after it. It has happened to me on a small random map and one of the larger "themed" maps.

Send the save game please and a replay (so we can look at the circumstances leading up to it). So far this seems to be related to new Vasari stuff so it's not the old causes back again

Ok, I tracked down he relevant auto replay, where should I send it and the save? Also, after reviewing the replay, Prozach is right. For some reason, ships kept getting pushed out of the gravity well, sometimes for tremendous distances. Enemy ships would go after them, causing the chain. It happened multiple times at that Rezia system as you can see in the replay.

The problem described was fixed in the hotfix released on November 2nd. It was caused by one of the Vasari abilities. I thought you guys were describing something different

In the future, any dumpfiles, save games or replays can be sent to [email protected].

Seeing an issue similar to this..
I have reinstalled the game today.

Huge map single player with full AI FFA.

Occasionally, I notice ships moving between planets/stars via normal space movement.

Have a huge group of ships selected with group move.
Have some of the ships at different planets/stars.
Move them all to one location.

The ships furthest from the target location, will move normal speed to the ships closest to the target location and jump instead of jumping through out to gather at the ships closest to the target location.

Maybe an AI issue?

Possibly. Please zip up your save game of where this is happening and send it along with a description to [email protected].  We'll get it sorted out.

I had the same problem. I had a bunch of ships grouped (using ctrl-1), and one of my cap ships wasn't doing so hot so I made it jump to another system while the rest of my fleet took care of business.

After the cap ship got to the next planet, I accidentally hit "1" and made my fleet (including my cap ship that had previously jumped) attack a certain target. The aforementioned cap ship proceeded to turn around and use its normal engine speed to cross the distance between the planets along the phase lane and then proceeded to attack the next target that I had designated.
