Homeworld revived?

Probably the same reason why Atari (is it Atari? or EA? I'm too lazy to google it...) has acquired the IP rights for Master of Magic and doesn't use it...

That doesn't say much, if only because its hard to be less respectable than EA.

I wouldnt hold my breath on this unless there was some kind of official announcement from THQ about a new Homeworld game. If there was there is no guarantee that Relic will be the ones to develop it. I just see a bunch of wishful thinking here.

OMG I would buy this in a second...

If THQ and Relic desides to create another hw franchise. it would be best to keep it secret to root out any potential rivals. i wouldn't call sins a potential rival because it is a mixed of rts4x genre.

a 5v5 hw style game would really get me playing for years, all you need to add is eye popping candy graphics on a hw concept and you can bet that i'd be skipping dinner.

I have a feeling that it won´t look the same. I mean, they did a fantastic job on
WH 40k and CoH, but Homeworld is much slower and, I think they woud spoil the game(no offence to THQ- they made some great games). Homeworld was the second strategy game I ever plaied( the first was Dune 2000) and I think that Homeworld 2 was barely worthy of it´s predicesor. My experiance in gaming tells me that(with few exeptions) the following games can´t be compared with their predicesors.

Relic made both COH and WH 40k, THQ was mainly the producer.

Still I don't think that another HW will look or feel the same. They probably won't even follow thesame story.

I don't think HW2 left much of a story to follow.. other than "Homeworld 3: Adventures of the overpowered Sajuuk"

oh come on, your homeworld was nuked until you had what, 42 people left? and where the hell did they get those giant ass bombing structures from? and were those even the Vaygrr (didnt they say it was of bentus design?)

either there is easily a way to turn that into a new game, so long as they nutralize the pwnzorz supergates.

omg thats even better. something new on the table yet having the feeling of 'knowing' its hw would catch my both attention.

in a tweaked out sense, woul'd love to see structures torn to bit's and pieces say like i.e, depending on it's structures health bar, pieces of that structure would depart. by 65% health bar, ships or structures would have been penetrated through it's hulls causing nearly severe hull breakage. if implimented, then you got one happy gamer

I know a HW movie is coming out...... is has ABSOLUTLY nothing to do with the game.

A HW movie? What is wrong with Hollywood these days? Can't they see their ruining our beloved memories of games by scaring our brains with what they speciously call "movies" based on those games? First Doom, the Hitman, now they spread their evil to the RTS genre? In like 5 years will we being seing a Sins movie too (with Multi as the protagonist, Schod as the evil villian, and lord kosc as the Jar Jar Binks character)? Do movie producers have no limits to their malevolence?

Yea, yea, a sins movie will have Multianna as the good girl/guy/whatever (gender identity crisis ) "Lord Schod" (with an echo) as the evil villain dressed suspiciously like ming the merciless (points to the long "polished" fingernails, and plucked eyebrows). Kosc as an omnipotent vorlon type dude, and Major Stress who acquired the name because he was stuck in the middle of this whole freaking farce to begin with

ok, yes Hollywood is lacking originality (and writers!) but you have to admit, unlike doom or Hitman, or any other game->movie genre switch, HW could actually make a damn good movie! just one thing


THEY HAD BETTER DAMN WELL EMPTY THEIR WALLETS ON SPECIAL EFFECTS.

I have always had a love of THQ. Ever since the fist X-Beyond the Frontier

When I first started that game, it started as a "oh, im in earth orbit running test on my new hyperdrive system. Felt like a Space Opera game with missions then BAM im in the middle of nowhere having to trade, build,explore and fight. Sigh... I love THQ

And it figures. Leave it up to HollyWood to make something based on a game, but then it is not actually like the game.

but yes, HW would make a AWSOME movie... if done correctly, unfortenitly they nvr will do it correctly.

Ah ok, now that I've seen the site I get it. The name of the movie is just a coincidence. It's about aliens invading Earth. Phew! That puts my mind at ease.

But here's my cast idea for Sins: The Movie.

Multi is the commander of the TEC and is the protagonist and will blow lots of things up.

Schod is the malevolent leader of the Vasari and he will eat human babies.

TGE is the aloof, but evil leader of the Advent and he will be a New York Yankees fan (can you think of anything more evil than that?).

Lord Kosc will be Multi's side-kick (read: Multi's bitch)

Eet will where a red shirt and die within like 10 minuetes.

Yarlen will be a kick ass mercenary on a quest to revenge eet.

And at the end when the improbable allies Schod and TGE are about the finish off the heroic Multi...Blair Fraiser will come in with one Kol and destroy the entire remaining TGE and Schod forces (Multi did a number on them but it just wasn't enough).

I'll be the director and when the movie tops the box offices, I'll take all the money and buy an island.   

pff, there go my hopes and dreams for a piece of cinema worth watching.

pff, you forgot the surprise ending: whatever the Vasari are running from finally hits the TEC empire, everyone dies in some sort of dramatic, fiery or bloody death. I, of course, say "told ya" right before dying.

Me and my TEC faction nvr made the final cut, but soon a second movie comes out (staring me and my evil politcal faction intent on "giving those aliens what they diserve")
