Single Player Campaign?

Is it going to be in the release version of the game?

Do you know if there will be a single player campaign in the release version of the game?

Hey there, as we told you on SDC "Sins won't have a campaign in a traditional sense"

It will be more of a skirmish kind of way. More we really dont know... yet

You'll probably be given a loading screen with text, describing what you have to do and why it's important. Once the map starts you'll probably be given some objectives to get, such as take control of these 3 planets, and don't lose planet X or capship X" ect.

I am thinking the same thing...

Probably meaning he's taking his best guess, not that we actually know anything past what Multi has already said: no campaign "in the traditional sense".

So this would be like in GalCiv II. However I would argue that this is quite traditional way to do campaign.

I think he meant it would be randomized -- rather than pre-designed maps, you'd face down random ones or something.

So how does the SP component work? After reading the "Lore" section of this site it appears there's some kind of story unfolding.

A lot of the info about sins so far has to do with the game mechanics and user interface etc.

I can't really find any information about the single player.

At the moment, I'm playing GalCiv2's "Dread Lords" campaign and I really like the idea of a story progressing over each mission/map that I play.

I'm hoping sins has something similar - I'm quite intrigued by the "story so far"...

There isn't any. We've been told there will be a singleplayer storyline, but it will not be a campaign "in the traditional sense".

From what I've heard and pieced together, it'll have the Skirmish and Campaign features much like GalCivII.

Doublethink, I would advice against taking the lore at face value. Look at the gameplay in the videos instead to see how the game works. I'm curious about how they will cram a campaign in in such a short time, but multiplayer will be what I'll play the most anyway.
