Player placement in larger galaxies

I primarily play single player so I don't know if this is a issue with multi player or not. I've noticed that in single player that there are always other empires in the same star system as you even if there are other systems. For example I created a random large game with 3 star systems and with just myself and one other empire. In the setup screen I tried having the computer player being in the spot directly below me and all the way at the bottom and a few tries in the middle. Regardless of where I place the AI it always starts in the same system as me which leaves the other two star systems empty except for pirates. I would seem to make more sense that if there are three systems and three players they should be spread out evenly over the are available..... Not sure if this is a bug but it was something I noticed.

they are only put into other star systems with more than 3 players..and even then you will have people in the same system as you..its how the game is setup

By design, if it is at all possible the game will try to place two opposing forces in the same system at galaxy creation -- to try and get the game going ASAP was the reason given. Since A) thats not expected behavior most of the time, and B) they (vastly) reduced the tech requirement for inter-systemic jumps, it does need changing. I believe they did mention that they were planning to make that an option, sometime.

If they added so that you could select they type of placement, ie you could select so that the others systems are empty if there are a low number of players a option called called something like players start clumped together and a option where all the players start roughly equally far away from one another so that if there are three players and three systems they are spread out over the three systems.

NacNud, please learn the use of these things called "periods" and "commas"... and un-learn the use of monster run-on sentences that end up making little or no sense.

AKA: What are you saying?

ditto. You're first post was fine , but WHAT ARE YOU EVEN TRYING TO SAY?! in the second one! (check to make sure you actually type the right words, too. ie: "the" instead of "they")

Rough translation:

"I want an option for how players are placed. Currently more than one player always ends up in the same system, with this option they would instead end up in separate systems if they are available. For instance, with three players and three stars, each gets his own."

Okay, I can now confirm that when you go to generate your own maps you can now choose how the players will be distributed.
