Government stats

Anyone know what the stats are with the diff Govts? I know they tend to increase my Econ, but do they have other bonuses? maybe better moral, more eager to go to war etc? What %'s does the econ get boosted for each?

cheers

...or what kind of effect they have on econ? I've looked for this to and haven't found it.

+20% Economics, and improved Research, Social and Military production. For the last three, I'm not sure íf it's added as a flat bonus, or if the four government types use entirely seperate scales. It also has a tendency to decrease morale slightly, but I'm not sure if that's an inherent effect or the side effect of the other increases.

I know pretty much for sure that each gov aplies a bonus to your economy:
Republic = 20%
Democracy = 40%
Federation = 60%

I thought I read it in the Guides somewhere.

I've found that I have an extremely difficult time winning elections if I ever switch to Democracy from Republic (I seem to consistanty win elections in Republic). Does anyone have any useful advice for winning elections in more advanced governments (the penalty for losing an election is pretty severe and seems to counteract the benefit I'd get from using Democracy).

I haven't done this myself, but I've heard that since you know when elections are coming up, you can lower taxes to raise morale before elections so that you'll have a better chance of winning em. You might want to try propaganda as well.

I just had a rather cheesy thought. Would it be possible to change your gov't to 'Imperial' right before elections, effectively allowing you to prevent elections from being held, then switching back to a Democracy after election month...? Not very democratic I know ;)

Not very democratic and probably won't work anyway.
If you try and change governments back down to Imperial, they'll have a vote on whether they want to go back to Imperial government. Usually they'll want to stay a democracy. ;)

And if they voted to change back to Imperial, you have another vote as soon as you bump back up to Democracy...so probably just a waste of clicks...
