Ships moving/not jumping between planets.

I was playing a multiplayer game yesterday and had a very large fleet in a single group.

I ordered them to all jump together at the same time between planets.

Half of the fleet jumped normally, and the other half... to my suprise, just started flying to the planet at their normal rate of speed.

As you can imagine this took an extremely long time for them to reach their destination.

I shared intell with guys I was playing with, so they could see what was happening.

If you still have the replay, zip it up and mail it to [email protected] with a description of the issue and the time stamp in the replay when it happens Similar issues have been reported, but we've not really heard much on them from the dev team so it probably wouldn't hurt to send them more cases to help track down the problem.

That or Blair is going to strangle me if they already have tons of similar submissions

If you have a saved game/autosave from that point, send that too.

hey. i have that similar issue on a ffa. but what i did to get it hypered was that i reselected the ship and rehypered it to it's destination and it hypered from it's phase lane.

sry i don't have screen shot or the saved game. but it sure happened to me once.

I had a version of this happen to me. This is singleplayer. I was assaulting a planet, fought the defenses, and was wiping up. Then, some of my ships targetted a remnant enemy trade ship that had already jumped to a neighboring system. My ships followed the star-lane at sub-light speed. When I told them to stop, they automatically re-targetted the same trade ship and went back after it: same star-lane at sublight speed.

As a side weirdness, for some reason this stuffed up the construction I was beginning in the newly-conquered planet. The construction bot started to build a hanger defense, but it stopped at 1% and wouldn't continue.

The only way I was able to resolve this was to manually order the fleet to a spot near the original planet. As my fleet was arriving in the actual gravity well, my planet upgrading was still moving along and out popped a 2nd construction bot who went about building as normal. After it completed a building, this seemed to spur the original broken construction bot back into actually completing that hanger.

Also, the actual planet's fleet pips on my side registered the errant fleet as orbiting that planet.

I don't have any replays, but hope this info helps any reading dev.

This has happened to me a few times. In one instance pirates tried to travel between planets at sublight speed and my ships followed them through the phaselane at the same speed. Will save the replay if I encounter it again.

Sadly I don't have any replay/save from that game, but I'll try and recreate it and send in the results next time I get it to happen.

Right now I assume what caused it is a scenerio like this..

You have a large group made: ctrl-1 :set to jump as a group.

You: shift-1 :new units to the group who are far away, then select (1) and tell the group to jump to a location.

The newly added group members who are far away bug out and try to fly directly to the target destination, neglecting to navigate the proper jump lane/lanes, while the original units in the group jump normally.

Just a scenerio to test, I think this is what I did when it happened, but could always be a coincidence with other things going on in the game.

This has happened to me many times so far, I've only play a few games but it seems to happen at least once per game. Next time it happens I will up a replay.

I had pirates follow trade ships that have jumped by going at normal speed. This is both funny and silly D:
