I'm back (few things I noticed)

Due to one heck of an ending to a long year, I have been away too long. I do not know if these issues have been reported but I thought I would throw them in.

Weapons platforms do not face back in the original direction (reset) after targets leave or are destroyed.

Leaving bombers running around after awhile the 3 bombers will clip into each other (when watching in close-up view).

Bombers when returning to the watch area they move through the planet (if one is in the way)

I have been trying to check everything but really the game is allot of fun to the point of being distracting.

I am currently playing against the trade federation and I noticed something which I had not noticed in previous builds and so I am not sure if it is suppose to do this or not. I had a trade ship (bad guys *boo*hiss*) coming to my planet that was heavily protected with 5 weapons platforms. A little distance out he moved outside of the lane and merged into another lane and jumped in on the left side of my guns well clear of being targeted.

Yeah, fighters ignore the planets (or suns) in the center of a grav well -- well known

Huh? Are you referring to the new jump system, which allows you to jump from anywhere inside the "arc" that used to be allowed, and then used your departure displacement from the "central" phase lane to determine your arrival displacement?

To put it more simply: if you jump from the left of a phase lane, you arrive to the left of it. If you jump to the right, you arrive to the right of it.

Because once there is no longer a threat they do not go back to facing the lanes to hits targets ASAP. They have to rotate back around before acquiring and firing.

Yeah, I seemed to remember it but wasn't 100% sure. It has been awhile.

I will post a picture to show what I meant.

(please bare in mind that I have added a few more platforms since the ship went around my defenses)The 1 ship came down the right sided lane and well before entering my system it seemed to know the platforms were there and cut across to the other lane and came in well outside my firing range. (I added more platforms to guard that 2nd lane afterwords and it did not happen again)

OK, so what? If they returned to their "default" position (which we can't set!), they're far more likely to be facing away from the lane than towards it, and on top of that I think the turning/aiming time is combined with the "charge up to fire" time anyway.

Can you get some shots of this happening in the replay? It's one thing if they skirt the edge of the well after dephasing (I do that myself), but they shouldn't be stopping before reaching the edge of the well. If they are, it might be related to the tweaks made to the jump system (you come out at a mirrored distance from your target as you were from your origin when you jumped); if somehow the ships jumped from well outside the well, they may have been dumped out of phase at the same distance.

Are you the same Chip5541 from the Nexus modding community?

I think you have the purpose of the gauss guns all wrong now (judging from the pic you posted). Much has changed since beta's 1,2, and 3. With the new jump angles in place it is easy to avoid guns blocking jump lanes. It is almost pointless now to put guns in positions like how they are in that screenshot. I use them to protect key structures, and let my hanger defense bombers deal with invaders that the guns cant reach. I also keep some guns close to the planet in case of siege frigs.

As far as positioning of guns i have seen them sometimes fire "sideways". As in the turret was pointing 1 direction, and the shot fired in another. This was rare, but it did happen. The guns relax in their last fired position. I never took much notice of it. It didn't affect how they functioned in my games.

The fighters, and bombers clipping each other is annoying especially if you are trying to take screenshots. The formations need to be spread out a little.

Iz zat leeegal??.... Get this stunted slime out of my sight!

LOL!!!

Yeah, same from the Nexus forum.

I have noticed the guns firing arc seems to be able to fire at a 45 degree angle either direction of the way the gun is facing. I started playing a new game and I see what you mean. Bombers are much more effective at protecting.

Gets out a gun and shoots "Jar Jar"

You want to watch something funny? Place 4 (or more) guns around a trade station, and wait for a pirate invasion

Actually I like getting about 4 or 5 of those missal ships (I forget the name) and have them all target 1 ship

Ah, if Tron was only real I could imagine what the crew was thinking

I have not been able to repeat the jumping lanes. I went into the auto save area but I am missing several auto saves. I believe one of the missing save files is the one that showed the lane jump.

I also noticed the save order is a bit off. 1, 10, 11,.... 19, 2, 20, 21
