Well first off, I have been looking at screenshots. viewing videos, and following some of the reviews for this game since the beggining of this week and I must say this game looks to be what I have been looking for in a 4x or even a RTS Game.

Here is one of my questions:

How much will high ping rate players affect other players in this game? Does it pause the game for everybody for a few seconds or does it only slow down the "slow" players progress?

The reason why I ask such a question is because I am trying to find a game that is not really affected by a wide range of connection speeds. I am living/working in a remote place that does not offer high speed broadband. Only satellite DSL    is available and that as you may know causes much of a delay and therefore a high ping rate. I can already tell that this game is worth playing single player but I would like to (for once) enjoy some multiplayer action.

What kinds of connections do you ppl have? Any dial-ups still?
