Game speed

I think a thread about the game speed is in order, as it seems to be a huge discussion atm.

I would like to suggest instead of just changing the over all game speed, the travel time should increase instead. Because most of the time that is used is on the travels, not the combat.
I bet none of us wouldn't like the battles to be over too fast, as it wont allow us to do alot of things in them.

So the travel speed could either be made by coding or by research :D

I agree playing on fast is fun now, but the speed of travel seems a bit slow. I don't want the game to run any faster, as my micro skills are just about pushed to the max , so... Levels of research for faster engine upgrades would be a great idea!

So, If were taklking about changing the Travel Times, can we be a little more specific? do you mean in-system, phase Jumping, Jump Charging, or an overall increase?

Personally, I like the Phase Jumps speeds as they currently exist, but it is very annoying to have a fleet tied up for 10 mins circumventing a star to make another jump. So I would increase ship speeds inside a Grav well, leave Phasing the same to still give players adequate warning, and possible increase Jump Charge time so defenders can still catch retreating fleets.

I want the game two be twice as fast as it does currently, in every aspect of the game (combat too). Period. A "Very Fast" game speed that makes it so would satisfy me.
