Is Sins being shipped to Australia??? Im stressing out, plz answer!!!

Hi, havnt posted in AGES, but i was re-surfing this site after a massive break from reding up on sins, then it hit me like a blue whale from 30 000 feet. Is sins gonna b sold retail in Australia? ive been surfing the web for "coming soon" ads for this game in australian stores, but having found none, i am asking u. If this has been posted already, srry, but i dont have time to b searching now. im just asking this because i COULD buy it digitally, but my parents are iffy about credit cards over the net + my net is AVERAGE, me living in a country town and all, it isnt spiffy. If i tried to download the game (im guessing its gonna be minimum 10-20 gig, again, i dont have time to find this out via forums) it would take HOURS! so ima need to buy the physical version. I could get it from over seas, but again, my parents are iffy bout that too...

plz reply......

I believe it's being distributed by Auran to stores in Australia.

ROFLCOPTER!

Most games these days are in the ten gigabyte range... specifically, they're below that limit. I don't think I've seen a games folder hit ten without massive mod-based increases in size. (Oblivion with a bunch of GB+ sized mods, to be specific...)

Yes, it could take hours to download the game over the internet, however. Its one of the things that sucks about digital downloads. The advantage, on the other hand, is that most digital downloads aren't going to require you to insert the CD... and while that isn't a worry with Stardock, it A) saves you a trip to the store, and B) lets you get it even if stores don't carry it.

yes is why i cant wait to finish school nd go to uni in the city, with fast net *drools*. Well that sounds awesome. Now to the devs, U may get this all of the time, but i am looking forward to this game with the equivilant amount of anticipation to that of the holidays. thats saying something. as in whenever i get the chance, i read up on this game, find pictures, imagine what it would be like to play it, want time to speed up, ect. lol, i REALLY want this game. anyway, keep up teh good work ;)

There are gameplay videos from a user called Multianna (some are dated, as we are in beta 4.) Go search around the forums for them! :CONGRAT:

buy it online..cheesus.

Its prolly not gonna be more than 1 gb ...considering beta size.

Secondly, my connection eats gigs for breakfast, I don't care anymore about size of games, digital is the future ...get on the train :)

Um, no. Full game will likely include both movies, and full quality (non placeholder) graphics files -- it will be more than the current beta size.

nah, 2 GB is ok these times. *shudder* thinks of D2 which required close to 3 gigs with LoD. quite a bunch back those days.

Unfortunatly, not everybody has 'high-speed' available to them.

Indeed! For those of us w/ high-speed always-on connections Digital DLing is definitely the way to go.

But I shudder at the thought of DLing 2Gb over a 56k connection.

*thinks about medieval 2 total war and the xp...*

7.62 gigs for the first one, then 1.17+1.08+1.01+.91 gigs for the xp...

oh, and halflife 2 ep2 is 14.1 gigs ^.^

Ahem.. I believe the copyright belonds to me being High Emperor and all that.

Plus we would never combine the ponies cutsiness with eets, it would cause the end of the universe.

It would be nice if developers using digital downloads embraced torrents - when speed grows instead of slows on high demand days (such as on launch days) you know you have a winner. Sins seems to work OK in this respect as well - run activate.exe and you're set, the data files aren't 'locked', so it'd be okay to distribute them over a public tracker. I have a terrible connection that gets maybe 100-200kb/s on really good http downloads, and can get up to 500kb/s or more using a well-seeded torrent. That's a little over an hour to download 2GB, for the math impaired :p

The eventual implosion of the multiverse is inevitable whenever a volatile variable like eet is introduced (in any way, shape, form, or smell) into the equation. We can no more run from that inevitability than our own shadows :(

Might as well embrace it and go out with style! .. by having eet ride pink space ponies into oblivion.
