Pre-ordering with actual money won't get you into the open beta.
Using Stardock Tokens (something like that) to pre-order the game WILL let you into the open beta.

$70 for 10 tokens, alot of money up-front but it leaves you some extra tokens after buying the game. This is completely rumor, but the devs have stated before that there might be an expansion pack; good use for those leftover tokens.

You'll only be able to digital-download the final game, instead of being able to download+get a physical copy.

Yes, you get the full game (once released) and you can download the Beta instantly after ordering it with stardock tokens.



And yes, you'll need to spend $70 It's business strategy Not everyone will use their leftover tokens, so they don't lose as much.
