where did you get that sins title? or was it already on the wallpaper?

Just pointing out, don't think the US is in top sales anymore of PC, if you do, your sadly mistaken at the actual markets now.

Unfortunately European publishers (all but the one we're currently dealing with) have told us that the European market (specifically Germany) won't support a space-game, which is why we've had major issues getting the game setup for retail over there.

Somebody lied to you since i personally know number of Germans who are looking at this title very closely indeed and as we all know Germany has got one of the biggest RTS markets in the world!

This world is full of naabs!

But don't worry - we will do our best to spread the word as far as we can ;)

That is odd. I was talking the other day to one of my site helpers in Germany and he was telling about a TV show for gamers and as he put it, everyone watches it and it features mods and he asked if I wanted our site on it. I told him no since we dont have any mods yet and the clan element as well as the media resources are not developed yet for the other side of the house. I got the impression from him it was a done deal if I wanted it.

@NEp - that is real nice brother.

Yes they do. The best thing to do is to keep a text file on your desktop with the code in it then copy and paste as needed. :)

If you make some good banners, would use them ;)

A PIRATE!!!

Can I shoot him???
Can I?
Can I?
Can I?

PLEEEEEEAAAASE!

Seriously, though, Negotiations are underway with a European publisher, so just be a little patient. OR, keep bugging yer daddy for a credit card for Digital Download directly from Stardock. But insisting you HAVE to pirate it will get you little sympathy here.

look at the last sentence

well, they'll have to be quick with the publisher then:)
im not bothered to wait for this game to play

if it will come after i downloaded it, i will pay the real one

im a innocent pirate that is forced to do so (:(

normally i dont do this
Awwww.... poor little OneRaul... can't have his way so was forced to a life of pirating. Poor baby!

So by your logic here, if your daddy won't buy you a car, you'll just go steal one from somebody because, well, you want a car and can't be bothered to wait till you can buy one yourself? So your daddy forced you to be a carjacker?
[sarcasm] Sounds like a GREAT way to live your life [/sarcasm]

Piracy is theft, and nobody is holding a gun to your head "forcing" you to do it. Its a choice you make. And coming around saying you don't "normally" do it, but insisting you know how and will do it is rather contradictory, don't you think.

At least try to be a little responsible with you life. Don't steal, and more importantly stop blaming other people for the choices YOU make and the actions YOU do.
nah.. dont need a car, i need sins

and im not blaming anybody, i just have no other option if i want this game duh...

Nobody's forcing you to steal our work. We sell a download version ourselves, with an option to ship a box worldwide. You can do that if it's not available at European retail early enough for your liking.

like i said, i cant buy it on internet cuz my dad doesnt let me
Reply #46 Top
neither did my dad, but i just 'borrowed' his credit card and ordered sins (i want/need it THAT bad). its only $105(i think) australian....im sure he wont mind if he finds out *innocent puss in boots face*. Now resorting to piracy will get you hung *holds our a noose*. these ppls put alot of effort/money/otherstuff into this game, and to have little hollanders just come along and steal their precious work....well its just....evil. :(

Now, like i said before, im going to make another banner, but im going to use in-game images to create it. could someone take screenshots of A) planet, close up and far away B) TEC capital ship, close up, far away...all with the same backdrop, plz? :)
mr Raul stealing money from your parents (like galactica did) who are likley to forgive you eventualy is much better than stealing from sc/ic who might not just mot forgive you but bring you to the justice system as well ( i know game piracy is just as illigal as movie piracy in AU)not to mention the fact that you have told them you will do it which puts me in the mind that you might just be thretening them

but just cos he knows how to do it dosent mean he does it, i know hw to do it because i hate disks and i lose things (like cd keys) so i know how to do it but i buy the games before i do it (dont hang me galactica  :SNIFF!: ) and btw galactica you better hope that your dad dosent walk in while your off the computer and reads that post  :p

on another note i got some screenies for ya guess il upload em on photo bucket or would you prefer me to send em to ya?

You *could* give him the cash and ask *him* to do it for you... or you even could get a cashier's cheque for US funds and mail-order it.

Hate to say it , but if your dad found out you were downloading illegal copies of stuff, he would really hate you. Over 90% of all Viruses, Trojans, key hacks, account hacks all come from those nice things you like to call free. You actually one day could make that download of yours cost him more then buying it. Don't say we didn't warn you and needless to say the new way of bypassing those that are inclined to steal other peoples work is to make registering online mandatory and have to connect to a server online to even play solo play.

Relic has done so with company of heroes to counter the stealing of their IP, so this trend will continue in the pc market then most likely the consoles. Wave of the future! Thanx to the hackers who are too cheap to pay and make every excuse in the world to condone their own behavior. You have no sympathy here from anyone I can assure you.

My opinion may not be popular so I'll put on the flame suit now.

First off, copyright infringement is not theft lets not confuse things that is a major reason why there is so many problems with IPR and the public. Morally it may "feel" like theft but it is not. With that said we think we are paying for "software" but the developers think we pay for a license and in reality what we really pay for is the experience.

Secondly copyright infringement is not piracy. Let us be clear on that point as well. It only becomes piracy when one monetizes the infringement act.

With that said, there aren't any other game developers like SD and IC out there that I know of right now and they make it real easy to get product so there is no reasonible justification for infringing on their rights.

Personally speaking, I always pay for titles I play (money is not an issue for me for this stuff) but often, as with Relic I could not get the game to do regional distribution restrictions for on-line purchases. So I had no reasonible legal options to get the game to play.

I even sent them an emails and made a post in the forums (it caused a minor shit storm) asking where to wire the money for the title since I already had it I did not need the game I just wanted a legit key. They said they could not just issue me a key in exchange that was not how they were set-up to do business.

So for nearly a year I played an unlicensed version. Then a few months ago Steam started to take paypal so I was able to buy it via paypal without the IP check. So now all is good in Relic land. I also got the X-pack as well. Truth be told I went legit with nearly a dozen titles as a result of Steam's Paypal option. I however dreaded installing it on my system but it was a legit option for once and I always stick to my principles so I caved in and went the Steam route.

BTW: several torrent communities I belong to basically remove torrents for SD products as a matter of practice on principle. Just take a minute and think about that statement...

You are likely wondering why I belong to several such communities. It is not an issue of money that is for sure. The primary reason is because of restrictive distribution policies. The secondary and more important one to me as a consumer was that I got sick of being cheated by publishers who rush a product out the door. Then if enough sales are not generated they simply stop supporting the product. I also got sick of being victimized by a one or two patch policy despite major bugs and performances issues.

If other industries operated like the game industry there would be serious legal consequences but sadly that is not the case. So I always try before I buy if I do not know and trust the company. On a side note, sadly enough often the developers get forced into such a situation by the publishers and I feel for them but as a consumer I refuse to be abused like that by extension.

So what does all this have to do with Sins you might be thinking, well I know SD and have been supporting the company since Brad started it and that is why I am in this beta. I know and trust SD therefore I will buy product from it sight unseen.
