Governors?

Anyone else have problems with Governors turning themselves off after building one thing?

Governor don't really do anything...they just have a build queue tied to them. Have you setup a build queue for the governor? (under domestic policy, governor tab)

I think I know what the problem is. After the Gov. runs out of mundane items (so all that is left are wonders and trade goods) it stops. I assume this is normal behaviour and I have to manually build wonders/trade goods?

From the way you phrased that, I'm not sure you actually understand what the governor does. The governor's don't build ANYTHING by themselves. There is no AI involved. You specify exactly what you want them to build, and in what order, through the Governor tab of the Domestic Policy screen. Unless you've set a build queue there, setting a governor on a planet won't do anything.
