I've seen some people who had beta 4 talk about what battles were like.

The thing people need to realize: Beta 4 is very old.

Looks like Kol had the right of way.

PS - Anyone know what that ship left of the Sova and below the Akkan in the beginning zoom is? It looks like it is shooting missiles, and by it's color it looks like it belongs to the TEC player, but it sure isn't the Javelis. Seems to have nacelles on the sides and some kind of vertical panels on it's pointy nose. The Kol passes a few more of them around the 20 sec mark.

The empire tree makes managing battles extremely easy.  Sometimes videos are recorded without this on, and fully zoomed in, which give the impression that its more difficult than it really is :P

You manage them from the empire tree or zoom out to iconic mode. But the units have incredibly sophisticated unit AI so they take care of business on their on if you want.

Yes. It's a typical battle. This battle was from multiplayer and neither of us were turtling. It was in a neutral system.

Beta 4 was made in October. I'm playing the gamma.

I'll believe it when I play it :P it takes a while to build up an armada like that in beta 4, and unless you're dramatically turtling it takes even longer (due to constant clashes). you would have had to ramp up production and income by miles for that to be possible.


still, you havent answered as to whether or not thats a galaxy far overhead.

Bleh. Gamma Kol looks less like a Human Destroyer from Babylon 5. I disapprove! Also the Kol crappy front turrets are seen in action. The immobility of them makes it look quite silly with the slicing-like motion of the laser beams.

Whale ships own btw. Nano disassemblers are the most powerful combat weapon I seen from Vassari :/
