Shields

No offense intended here but i have noticed that the shield graphics are poor for the beta. Are their any plans to improve them at all?

I believe the Beta has the medium quality images, there should be more high quality ones in the final version.

The particle fx and shields, etc. are mostly placeholders in the beta. The final release's are much better.

Are they visible on all backdrops because on the darker backdrops you cant see the shield effects very well which is a shame.

yea, backdrops have to be perfect, to dark and you can't see anything, too light and it hurts your eyes, HW had a problem with that. Though the bockdrops when done right were one of HW's biggist bennifits

A coment I heard about HW once, refering to the back drops

"how could space be so atmosphereic?"

I am hopeing that sins has some back drops that rival (or better) than HW's.

I have no doubt that if the devs want to, they can easily.

Well the shield effect is largely transparent, so if it's a dark skybox you'll still need to be looking at it with some kind of brighter light source to really pick up on the effect.

make it provide a bit of its own illumination so it looks better on a black backdrop, will you?

Yea i agree thats what im on about you cant realy see umm on black backdrop. When making coustom games can you choose the colour of the backdrop that would be nice or dose it go with a sertain colour of star,

It's better because you can't see it in the dark. Like with most things :p

Is their anyway to make the shields far less transparent and give them some colour for the final version or are they just the same as the beta
