no, sorry but that's just amazon being slow, the developer has stated that the unreal engine has too many compatibility issues with the PS3 for it to be worth their while to bring out a PS3 version

Sorry Alaric your partially correct.

It is true the game got canceled for PS3 for now, but they are hoping to finish it later this year if they have the money to because It got canceled not due to compatibility issues but because THQ had a bad profit year, I mean bad, they did not just cancel this game but tons of others and they even closed down some of thier game studios, no lay offs yet but it might happen soon.

The reasoning as well to cancel the ps3 version is because since this game is free online, they are already going to take an estimated $10-20 million loss for keeping the game running just for PC, so they cant afford it right now for PS3 which is free. The only reason its being released on the xbox360 is partially due to microsoft flipping the bill for the online play for the 360.

So like I said, theres no compatibility issues stopping them or any of that BS, its because THQ is almost bankrupt.

the official press releases by Kaos Studios says that it's problems between the unreal 3 engine and the PS3, which has happened before but i wouldnt be surprised if THQ was bleeding money, some of their games just havent been up to other publisher's standards

meh , game looks ok, but nothing special.....

Actually the early word on the game is that it is average at best and has some issues.

Personally I wouldn't worry much as the PS3 has some good looking FPS's on the way including The Agency.

There are so many problems with the Unreal Engine 3 that the developer of it is getting sued. Publicly it gets a lot of praise and support, but behind the scenes a lot of studios are struggling with it because it's so buggy. The developer, Epic, can't even get its own Unreal Engine working without issues on a lot of people's PC's. It's primarily an Xbox360-focused engine at the moment, but even on that platform they're having issues.

It's actually become more cost effective for each studio or large publisher to have its own game engine instead of licensing the Unreal Engine. There's so many quirks, glitches, things that don't work (even if they're supposed to work), things to learn, and so on. Unfortunately, all the PHB's (pointy haired bosses for you people who have never read a Dilbert comic) have been sold on the idea of middleware and buy up an engine that's making everyone poor except for the company that owns it.

Now, in Frontlines case, I'm just not excited about it at all and have no intention of picking it up. It appears to be another run-of-the-mill shooter. I have plenty of those.

This is why its called the BETA...BETA is always crappy...demo is better than beta but has a few bugs and the full version has little or no bugs.

Honestly I played a demo of this game for 360 and its pretty terrible. The concept is good on paper but that's it. There's these little flags (like CTF) that you have to capture. Once you do "the frontline" moves up to where you are and more allies become available. However to capture these areas you have to stand DIRECTLY on the marker. If the marker is in the middle of an open street then go stand there and get shot every time. The game continues to spawn players until you take each point, and since you have to often stand out in the open to do this, the game can get very frustrating. I've play more RTS games than shooters now, but Frontline had a good concept and seemed like you had to think a little strategy so I gave it a go. As I said, the concept was only good on paper.
