Two preorders and one account

Hi,

If I order two copies of the game on one account at totalgaming.net will I have any problems differentiating which copy belongs to which person or running the game at the same time for any reason? It seems unlikely but I'd like to check before doing it.

Thanks very much in advance,

As far as I know, when you buy/pre-order anything at totalgaming/stardock-central it will be bound to your account, so you will be able to buy everything just once per account.

I sent Blair a PM about getting multiple copies last week and I still have not heard back from him. To be fair is was me purchasing them for other people that dont have accounts yet. [looking for Blair].

I believe there's a way to handle multiple copies on one account (for those who are getting it for their LANs), but SDC isn't designed for it and it's not an entirely straightforward process, if it can be done. It certainly is not intended to be shared among multiple users.

Yeah, this wouldn't work (or be legal in regards to the EULA) the way it seems to be getting described if you're buying multiple copies for folks on your TGN account.

If you're getting this for a LAN of PCs that you own, then first thing is that 1 Sins serial is good for 2 PCs. ;) If you're buying another license to play on 4 LAN PCs, then that's fine. You'll need to put your email address in the Stardock Support email form (https://www.stardock.com/support) and it'll send you an email with all your serial info. You'll need to register the game manually on the other two PCs since SDC can't deal with that itself, however.

1Spartan - You should email [email protected] about that stuff.

will it create any problems if i have 2 keys under one stardock account and 2 ppl want to login to the ironclad gameserver (those sins keys arent linked to sdc or)?
I bought 2 copies with one SDC account so my brother and me can play online (we live at differnt places).
Will that work?

I think, unfortunately, they're telling us that you can't have two keys under one Stardock account.

You know I'm not 100% sure if that will say boo or not. My gut feeling is that it won't care so long as the same serial isn't in use multiple times.

I obviously can't order it until I get a firm answer. I'll check back later and if you can find one that would be great. Can you perhaps experiment and see if it will allow two keys for the same game tied to an account.

Thanks

You could always create two accounts if its that big a deal. You'd have to buy it seperatly for each account, as there is no gift giving, but that shouldn't be that big a deal.

That said, why do you need two separate serials? For LAN games you only need one serial per two players if that helps.

Well really all I noticed is that is I buy both copies with the same account its cheaper since I can get both for $70 instead of the RRP.

I don't know that there is an answer for this. I guess we're in wait and see mode. ;)  The system wasn't designed to allow what you've described, but I don't think it will outright prevent it either so long as you jump through the additional hoops of manually registering.

Will I have the same problem if I order two copies through the sinsofasolarempire.com website and then pass the code on that way? I'm ordering for someone in Europe as well as myself. He's getting a boxed copy but will want to use the digital download while it is on its way. Will we have problems with that since we'll both be using the download at the same time albeit with two copies of the game available.

Order one with an extra/freebie email address, then give him the email so he can register his copy for himself.
