Anybody Old enough to remember Pong?

I remember I was six years old and all I wanted in the world was an Atari and Commodore 64! I was one of those A.D.D. kids that was fed ridalin by the truck load so I guess my father finally caved in and got me an Atari 2600 for my birthday, hoping it would keep me occupied and give him some peace. Soon of course came Space Invaders, Missile Command, etc. Pac Man ruined my life and Nintendo and Donkey Kong destroyed any hopes of becoming a normal, well adjusted person. Thanks DAD! I dont think I've been as wildly excited about a game since pong, except maybe for this one.  :LOL:

OMG, I haven't thought of Joust, Lode Runner in years! (Hmmm.....I wonder what the interest would be over the last 25 years on the $500+ in quarters I spent at the arcade....lets see....)

I also remember countless hours spent playing Speedball 2 (but that was later on on the Amiga 500) I bought the recently released Speedball 2 Tournament via Steam, however I advise those caught in the "nostalgia" of the moment to reconsider. The "dreamy past" is best left there.....the past!  :NOTSURE:

Oh yeah, I remember pong. I'm hoping for something a little more in depth with Sins though!

I miss Manic Miner, Arcadians and something that was on the Amiga called Wreckers. I do agree though that nostalgia is best left in the past. Firing up Elite II for the first time in years really bummed me out as it wasn't all that I remembered it to be :SNIFF!:

Um, well... the real pong predates atari... it was a stndalone game "Odessy Pong"...

I went from that to an APPLE II+ with 48K of memory...

Oh man that was a long time ago... I'm the original generation of gamers... will be until the day I get fragged by the big man in the sky.

Oh alright yes I used to play it at the local squash courts. The most addictive game I used to play was defender - wasted so much money on it. Now my reflexes are no where near as good :SNIFF!:.

What was the original video game played on an oscilloscope called? I forget. Anyway, ya, I was born in 75 and by the time I got an atari it had already been out 2 or three years - about the time warner got them I believe. Got bored of Frogger and I started playing Pitfall on the Commodore 64, think the atari went into the closet after that. Man I feel old.

Ohhhhhh and the joy of being able to own a 64k mem commodore 64 and the tapes for loading games. 10 minutes loading and then the occasional LOAD ERROR For me it started with a pong like console then a Philips videopac/Ataris competitor in Europe. OMG the first floppy drive WOOT!!! SUMMER GAMES!!!! I still feel my wrist from turning the joystick hahaha. Good ol days for sure :) And btw Hi old fecks :)

Honestly I have no idea. The episodes I have seen have no network markings on them. I think there is only five episodes in the series as well. Maybe it was a canceled show.

I'll track it down spartan, thanks for the heads up! I've kinda been a nostalgia mode for the last few months with all these old games getting redone like Duke Nukem. Maybe they will redo Castle wolfenstein too. Or maybe they should just leave it all alone and leave it where it needs to be. I dunno...

An old game with two solid pixelated rectangles renderend on an old cathode ray tube television that where as big as your refrigerator. You would hit a little square back and forth like squash or tennis. It was absolutely amazing at the time.

I remember Pong, but my favorite system was the Commodore 64, sweeeet. I wish someone would redo Karatica. Nothing like blowing hours of your life to save the princess - just to get to her and have her kick you to death for not bowing - that was classic. What was that wwII game they had with the cheesy voice acting. The guy screaming "you can't kill me" then he'd scream like a girl when you did kill him. Awww, nirvana!
