Ocean Planets

I've noticed in Beta 4 that there are Earth-like planets, Desert Planets, Volcanic and Ice but where are the Ocean/Water planets?

If you look at it that way, their seems to be a lack of toxic atmosphere planets, gas giants, Hot Jupiters (Personally think these would make awesome systems seperated from a sun by a single phase line), heavy gravity environments, etcetera (Can you tell I'm a GalCiv2 player?)

there are GAS giants in the game (were once terran planets that were changed to gas giants due to excessive cow farts), they are not able to be colonized ...

There are "heavy-grav" and "low-grav" planets (aka planets with dense cores and porous cores). Those things can happen in any habitable planet and make grav wells larger or smaller.

I understand that you can mod the game but I am more interested in seeing if the Developers will add in additional planet types in future updates/expansions. I could see an ocean world being similar in population to a Terran world with perhaps reduced logistic and tactical slots but with the bonus that since most of the settlements would be underwater that it has an innate planetary shield effect. Perhaps make the basic colonization tech a 1 to 2 tiers higher to compensate for this.

That is always a possibility. I like the idea of an ocean planet :)
