Just pre-ordered the digital download

Wonder that myself. Do we get an email with a cdkey that we have to enter in SD central? Or is the download link/thing/sd central link? included in the email? lol

You will receive a e-mail with your cd-key (not really a cd key, but i can't remember the other name for it, you use it to get access to patches and multipalyer).

From what I can gather, you then register it through the Stardock Central updating program (might want to download that now) and then you have the option to download it.

The download should begin around 9:00 GMT give or take a hour or 2.

Can't wait, though I wish they would let us download the game now, and lock it until release day. Like what EA does, they let you download like 99% of the game file and then on release day all you have to do is download a few MB's and your done, it would be alot better than downloading the whole game on release day.

Ok, wait, what time is it going to be able to download tommorow? Because if it's like 3am EST I WILL stay up even though I havn't slept in over 24 hours at the moment (I work nights and have today & tmrw off). Arg? Anyway, even 3pm GMT would be nice, or even 3pm EST. Then I can play!

Why? It's still more expensive to pre-order then get it from some retailer. It was like 30 something on Amazon/Newegg. I paid about 60 here. (With the shipping)

No they wouldn't.... The actual game would not have been released, the only difference is that you do not have a massive DL time.

I dunno.... Yarlen or someone from SD said it would make the retailers mad... Just relaying what I heard.

Retailers are being a BIG pain in SD's ass, so they're kissing... well you get the idea. You also get the music and artwork posters in .pdf format for the digital download. If the soundtrack is good, then it's worth the extra $5 to me (and the CE box is priced good IMHO).

Dumb question about the CD...is it used to add additional music within the game, or is it just a music CD outside of the game for listening to?

CD is just music from the game , that you can listen to. Sorta like the CD that came with Homeworld 1

so let me get this right you buy it then get a serial code in the email

then add that in program and it will show up in stardock?

i never got a serial just a order number and stardock is saying i have no purchased products  (:(

I have the same question really also. How long does the credit card verification process take?

once they CHARGE the orders , you get the email with the serial code, and the game will show up in SDC under "games". they aren't charging until tomorrow when the game is released , it will be hectic and fun! make sure to get on IRC to bug the DEV's , tell Yarlen I sent ya!

The same with me i ordered the Collectors Edition so if everything goes well i will download it and just wait for the pack to come although it will take some time as i live in Greece and all.

Once the betas are closed (that was a month or two ago), all preorders go on hold. Then once the final release is posted, all the uncharged preorders are processed. That's where you guys are now, waiting. You should be charged and get your serials tomorrow afternoon (EST).
