Probably one of the greatest incentives and reason people did preorder was because pre-ordering got you into the closed Beta, so you get a chance to play the game before it is ready.

Many people have already had their pre-orders processed and received their information. It shouldn't be long now before everything is processed.

Ok that was dumb, I get confused by time zones! But I still dont think Stardock are treating their loyal customers very well at all!

I would imagine it has something to do with the combination of:

1) No queue system to put purchases in any specific order
2) Someone who orders in advance isn't necessarily online the moment it's available while someone that hits "buy now" is. The "buy now" can't be told to wait or the sale might be lost.
3) Limited bandwidth and a lot of requests.

All the yelling about improper treatment is really quite silly, just understand this isn't a major game developer and they probably don't have the resources to do everything at once. It also wouldn't be cost effective to implement those resources for the 2 or 3 days needed.

Actually No, I preordered for exactly that reason and was told the beta was closed, I said "no worries my bad" and prepared to wait a few days knowing I would get my preorder ahead of the pack.....ahem.

Anyway look, you are the good guys, you have the balls to release a product with no protection because you know you have a rabid fan base who will fall over themselves to deliver buckets of money too you because they think you are great, but that has to work both ways and all I am (humbly) saying is I think you dropped the ball on this one by making preorder's wait behind release date sales.

it's 2pm EST and i just saw the gold version of Sins available to download from Stardock Central. i'm not complaining; i preordered and everything but i know my computer needs a few upgrades before i can even run the thing (i stopped trying to run it on my computer at home from beta 3 onwards); i'm just saying. it's digital distribution. chill out a little bit, folks. it won't kill you to have to wait a few hours; it's not like you're going to take the day off just to play the game, are you?

Can we say "instant-gratification-generation"? My god, lets exercise some restraint at least if we can't seem to remember human decency (and don't go telling me that human decency would be having your serial already).

I got my serial hours ago (luck of the draw) and I haven't downloaded one byte (haven't even installed SDC yet) because I'm on here looking for people having [b]real issues[/u] so that I can help!

The real problem I have with it is how can they use some lame excuse like "It takes time to process the orders." When they could have processed all the orders yesterday or the day before that and then had the e-mails with serial codes waiting to launch when the game was uploaded. This way the people who pre-ordered would recieve their product first before people who waited for it to be out.

The point of pre-ordering is to reserve a copy for yourself so that if they run out of the product you will be guaranteed that it will be there for you. Not so that you have to wait longer than people who didn't pre-order to get it. Stardock needs to seriously review it's customer priorities before they do another launch like this. Pre-order does not mean fire and forget, unless it's downloading and installing the game for me.

Nah I was just a bit worried as to the situation that id paid yet received nothing in return. Its a bit odd when people say theyve already downloaded it despite not preordering, whilst those who preordered are wondering where their game is.

Just got mine too. The extra couple hours I had to wait weren't the end of the world. Weird how uptight I was waiting for a stupid email lol.

Just because it ended for you, doesn't mean it ended for the rest of the world. In fact, Stardock's promise of delivery before 8pm EST puts it at 3 hours PAST the standard US working day end, which means they're staying overtime to make sure everyone gets it.

I didnt start this thread to flame anyone...or complain. I have my code now, but REALLY was wondering what the point of the pre-order was. I dont like to Beta games...so thats not an issue.

People, calm down. I'm sure you have other things that you could be doing to pass the time, that's what I'm doing. The Ironclad team is working as best it can, and it's not the projected time of 8PM EST (Nearly GMT, but.. *shrug*) just calm down and let them work.

Nope. Even if ordered eariler and was able to get into beta...I wouldnt have. Like I said, I dont like beta.

The purpose of pre-ordering in this case (if not to access the closed Beta) was to ensure you would get a copy at your own convenience. We could have alternatively just said Sins would be available February 4th. Come back then to buy it. The way we did things allowed for people to put in their order early so it would be available to them at some point during the release day.

good reason to if u live in aus u get it about 2 months before anyone else in aus haha

we always get games from most companys later then other countries except for say ea and microsoft who seem to be able to pull of international launches all on same day if ot just a few days apart

still i want my code now i am sick with the flu and need something to do as my foxtel is getting booring
