First time playing this sort of game, and i feel.....

I have alot to learn =)

I have just had time to play the totorial on basic gameplay and it seems like a pretty involved game which is just what ive been looking for!

I cant wait to learn everything so i can jump into some Multiplayer. Well i think it will take some time before i do get the hang of it as this is a very new genre for me but im sure all will come in time!

Looking foward to playing against/with you in the future!

Game looks great, but as its my first time playing somethin like this it will take alot of getting used to!

Cheers and Good luck

Feel free to ask questions while you're learning! There are quite a few nooks and crannies in the game aren't always obvious ;)

Enjoy the game :)

You noob!  ;p

And yea, you can ask most of us anything, some of us might laugh at your noobness, but in the end we are quite a helpful bunch :)

Hmm, im also new to this kind of games, so I would like to know what there is to do after you completed the research tree in a big game, that apparently, can go on for months!? :SURPRISED:

Months is probably a gross overstatement :P I've yet to play a game that lasts for more than 15 hours or so (on the included 100ish planet maps). If you play with 500 planets or something and only play an hour or two a day, I can see how it'd go for a month :P

It's cool how much friendlier the grognards are on the Stardock forums than with a new game like Savage 2, just to throw out an example. Die-hard fans of that series are just downright lame, comparatively, in how they treat new players or new fans to the series - as opposed to Stardock supporters, who will fall over themselves to help someone out.

It's darned refreshing, I'll tell you that much!

Now move in close - time for a group hug!!! :CONGRAT:

What I'd like to get is a small Guide on the Tech tree and how each path provide what benefits in the end based on playstyle.

I liked one of the guide made by someone from Stardock I believe for Galactic Civilization II Dark Avatar. It had nice information on how to get starting.

Personally, I'm still clueless about which researches items are really worth it and which should be invested in or not base on situation.

A nice guide with all Tech items, description and how they can affect the game would be amazing... Guess we'll wait on the community to provide it.

On a side note, the in game tutorial was very limited. a LOT of the game mechanism was not covert from what I can see.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me, Annatar11. But what are those games with 100 planets like? Is it just spawning units and rebuilding planets in the last quarter of the game after research has finished?
And how many artifacts are there in this game? ^^
You have any idea if we will get more artifacts/research items/units for this game in patching? :HOT:

Well, the release has adjustable research speed, so you can set it to fast and blow through it all quickly, or set it to slow to make it feel a bit more drawn out and last for the majority of the game. It was nice of IC to include that option :)

There are 9 artifacts, if I recall, and they've hinted that they're looking to add more in subsequent content updates :) Units/research, I have no clue.

Only 9!? I want magic frostblades! ;p

I imagine it would be cool if this game borrowed some inspiration from the HOM&M series, in terms of what it means to explore something while you are playing an RTS, like artifacts, special planets/npc planets with nice artifacts and such. :) hehe, maybe even planets with acces to special units, *drowls* :p...

But anyways, I still have alot to learn about this game. ;D

Some of those 9 are pretty damn cool, though. How's about one that reduces cost of all research by 25%? ;)

Besides artifacts, though, planets do also have special attributes. Some may have extra population, or extra trade income, etc :)
