Awesome game, but has some hard ai

Been playing for 3 hours, sans any beta-testing...and wow the game is stellar.

Now if I can just figure out how to take on any of the ai...started a 3v3 without locked team alliances. all 5 ai AND the pirates came after my little vas, and this was the only thing left:

for those that don't have the game yet: each one of those non-green squares on the left is an opposing ship...yea my mighty fleet was no match, but the destruction was entertaining. now to hit the game strats.

and if you haven't gotten this game; jump on it.

I've only tried one on one and I've heard a lot of AI gang ups if teams arn't locked/ or it's a FFA. Supposedly this only happens if your empire is the strongest?

Unless you start the game with locked teams, the AI players will fight each other just as much as you. However, if one player (AI or human) becomes powerful, they will start to form dynamic teams to help bolster their power. Ultimately, if you are more powerful than all the AI's together, they will all gang up on you (or even an another AI player who is powerful) until you are no longer the powerhouse. At this point their alliances may dissolve or they will switch to target the new leader.

Exact thing happen to me. 2v2 without locked teams later on the AI broke alliance and a couple hours later i had 2 AI fleets attack at the exact same time destroying my last 2 planets and my cornered fleet.

Teehee, the beta testers badgered IC so much for a hard AI, and IC obliged! It can be tricky, and large FFAs are not easy to play off the bat. Start smaller, learn diplomacy (it's a huge help with AIs on FFA), and pretty soon you'll be able to beat it :)

After all, what fun is it if you can stomp over 9 AI without hassle in your first few games :)

As it should be. This fact is a major selling point of the AI me. One can never get to comfortable on their laurels. I bet most people look at the player rank icons and get all ticked pink with they show in the top one or two places. When I see that I see it as a warning sign and plan accordingly! But I'm all xenophobic like that from playing with most of the GEC members.
