Game won't start up

I've just removed the beta and installed the full game through stardock, but the game won't start up. It does not give any error messages nor does it freeze up. When I open the taskmanager and go to the processes, the SoeSE exe is running in the background using about 25k of memory. End the process is the only thing I can do. Funny thing is that I've been playing the beta without any problems.

My rig:
Intel Core 2duo
Evga E-Gforce 8800GT (latest drivers)
2048MB DDR2 Ram
Vista 64bit business

Anyone got a clue?

It's quite likely (as I've seen it a few times now) that there are still files in the the Sins directory (the one under Program Files).

Delete these manually after an uninstall and then reinstall the retail version.

I've just re-installed the game, while removing everything concerning SoaSE. But still no luck, the game keeps waiting in limbo.

Ok sent mail.

Hope it's not a vista 64bit problem. Has been the cause of problems with a couple of other games.

Your using vista 64bit?? there is your problem there.. I have XP pro and not planning to upgrade to vista anytime soon. If i have to upgrade, I will upgrade to 32bit, atleast more games supports that.

Actually, when I upgrade to my next OS its going to be 64 bit -- the memory limit is really starting to crowd in on most programs (the new GC2 expansion is bumping into it, from what I hear). Sooner or later 64 bit will be standard.

And at least people are learning to support it "or else" thanks to Microsoft's little games.

What were the corrupted drivers that prevented the game from starting?

Wondering because I'm having the same problem
AMD 2.17 GHz
1G ram
ATi all in wonder X800
vista ultimate 32bit

The corrupted drivers where the nvidia 169.38 beta drivers.
I reverted back to the 169.25 and it worked.

I have the problem where Sins will not start at all...

I click on the exe file under the Program Files\xxx directory and the sins of solar empire.exe starts running in task manager, but nothing happens.

I have uninstalled / reinstalled many times and restarted the fool out of this and nothing will work.  I also have gone to Dell Support and downloaded and installed the most recent drivers for video card and hard drive controller.

I have also manually deleted the program files\Stardock Games folder after uninstall to ensure everything was gone.... then reinstalled.  Still wont work...

Does anyone have any ideas?  I would like to play this game, but I cant get it to run.

Thanks in advance for help!
