I've had similar experiences and simply purchased it directly from Stardock. I setup an account, DLed the client, DLed the game and had it up and running all in about an hour. You can have a hard copy shipped to you as well. Frankly the extra shipping cost is worth me not giving that joke of a retailer any business.

You dont have Wal-Mart in Canada? If not sorry. But if you do, you could cancel your pre-order and go buy the game somewhere else.

I didnt pre-order walked into Wally World picked up the game and walked out in 5 minutes.

I usually buy all my games from either Wal-Mart or Target on release day at the strip mall across from my apartment. Between those two they usually have it.

Well at my EB it can take them 10 minutes to serve one customer and for me there release dates are almost always wrong. But hey it's the best and closest place for me to get games where I live so it's a necessary evil dealing with them.

I never preorder from EB Games and yes theres a Wal-Mart where I live it's just getting games Release in the US to Canada takes a bit sometimes so no matter where I would look I doubt they would have it if EB does not have it.

I agree with avoiding EB Games, they suck hard. But when the developer charges more for the online download version, it's just screwed up. This should cost LESS to download. And when they are located in Canada and want to charge some insane amount for shipping, almost half the cost of the original purchase, it just makes you shake your head.

Hint to developers: use logic. Don't make business deals that will hurt your end customers. See Flagship with the EA fiasco, or the dozen of other EA fiasco's. Well, at least they didn't go with EA. Guess that's a plus.

I find the customer service at EB games rather poor in general, and for that reason I go to Best Buy or Future Shop for my gaming needs- I know what to expect at department stores (as in not much lol).

We cannot charge equal or less than the retail price without angering the retailers. They don't like it when you sell them a product then compete with them selling it yourself--it's a quick way to see that your product doesn't get sold at retail in the future. Valve may be able to do it, but they've got considerably more marketing and distribution muscle than we do.

While Ironclad may be in Vancouver, Stardock is located in the US. The shipping rates are based simply on the USPS Priority Mail costs for the CE box's weight.

Yeah although EB games down here in America was bought buy GameStop. I have had a similar disappointing experience with them. I reserved the game at my local game stop knowing they would only receive one copy. Then on the 5th when I went to pick it up they had sold it to someone ells that did not even reserve it. So me and my friends went on an epic journey to all the GameStop’s in our county ( well almost) Fortunately we were able to buy the only copy they got at each one of the 5 GameStop’s we hit. Sorry if you live in Volusia county Florida.

I called my ebgame here in missouri and they said unless some one preordered it then werent going to get it in which is funny because ebgames/gamestop same thing called both and gamestop is listed on places to buy. Could be the employees were just retarded though which is what im counting on. i just got the digi download much simpler.
