What's Your Favorite Faction?

...And Why?!

Hey all, we've had a couple days to spend with SOASE and I was wondering which factions people prefer and why they prefer them. Please include pros and cons about your prefered faction.

I would have to say my prefered faction is the Vasari simply because their ships look awesome. What's odd is that two of their ships resemble my mouse!

The thing I find annoying about the Vasari is the voice over. It's just not pleasant hearing it over and over again for every event, ship movement, or diplomatic endeavor. But the voices can be shut off and the graphics rock, so whatever.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing what others' favs are!

I like Vasari because of their various phase technologies. Phase stabilizers especially.

I've mainly only played the Vasari, and even then only against the AI. What are you guys talking about with the TEC economy? I guess if they follow their backstory, they would have mining, tax, and trade route bonuses. Is that what it is?

advent. massive sweetness from the carrier and the gorgeousest ships. And I have the same mouse too. Oh, and the advent voice is all kinds of amazing when you're attacking.

I prefer the TEC. I like playing economically and turtling, and the TEC are quite good at that. The Advent's singing weapons and fighter swarms are very nice though. I never really liked the Vasari.

Just played a 9 hour game with Vasari. The voices have kinda grown on me now. Will probably do the same with TEC and Advent tomorrow and this weekend. Think ultimately I'll stick with Vasari, though their econ is tough to manage at times even with research upgrades.

Nice to know others have the same taste in mice as me :)

I personally love the TEC look, especially their carrier, plus I'm a turtler :D The Vasari are probably my favorite for large maps due to their phase gate tech...in terms of space superiority, nothing beats the Advent though...I <3 advent carrier based fleets.

hmmm hard to say.

TEC: I like the over all look. Their ships look like something Humanity could come up with. Those big block industrial designs. And because I like making lots of money.

but the truth be told, im slowly going the way of the Advent their abilities and strategy you need to use is great. they suck at economy, but atleast their ships are powerfull enough even to make a Kol think twice.

Looks like Advent are winning the vote here. I am partial to the psyker bretheren of tec as well. Who doesnt love to provoke hysteria? Huh? Hmm?

Tec has its moments. Marza is my weapon of choice simply because the Raze Planet effect is the best in the game IMO.

My fav is the Vasari. I didnt like them when i 1st started playing them in the beta, but over time you learn to love the "Sinissssterrr" ones. Mega maid.. errr.. i mean the Evacuator is awesome. Phase tunneling, and gates are great. Dark armada.. nuff said.. Oh yea, who didn't jump out of their comupter chair the 1st time they heard MY POWER IS UNMATCHED!!! I want the starscream version of "how sinisterrr" put back in.

I still think the Vasari voice over sounds like the Rulons from the 1988 cartoon DinoRiders. It is starting to grow on me though.

I don't like TEC that much because I played with them all beta long. Although they are solid regarding caps and research I prefer the aliens.

Vesari have quite a difficult research tree so they are challenging and they add a lot of atmosphere to the game.

Nothing the less I think Advent is my weapon of choice for competitve gaming. The only thing I dislike is the cap ability sets. Research tree is solid and their style is cool.
