Screenshots?

Sorry if this is quick (grounded, not supposed to be on! Can't play sins either!) but where are the screen shots? They aren't where they were in the betas!

BTW Easy love worm holes too much. Ask Kiernyc.

Not sure if Thrawn's having the same problem as me, but having searched some of the old posts, seems he might be. The game is telling me it's saving to C:\blahblahblah but there's no Ironclad Games directory at that location. There's one under All Users\Application data BUT... that just holds a license file.

So where exactly are screenshots being saved? They're not being saved where the game is telling me they are, and the number on the end of the screenshot filename keeps going up so presumably they're being saved somewhere...

All of the game's created files (screenshots, configs, saves, replays) should be under C:\Documents and Settings\[your windows username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire. Local Settings and App Data are both hidden folders so you will need to have show hidden on in explorer.

I can see those files and folders, I don't have them showing up at all. Thrawn is having the same problem as me as well, as he's posted in another thread by now. There is no Ironclad folder showing up in my application data under the user name I use. And the screenshots don't appear in the Ironclad folder for all users, only license info does.

Disclaimer: appologies for any inaccurasies in the names of tabs/options, i'm working from a dutch version of windows XP. :)

Devon, open explorer, go to the Extra menu, then select Folder Options.

In the window that open then, go to the second tab. (Display)
Scroll down in the list until you see "Hidden Files and Folders" and set it to display them. Now press OK and try to find them again. Those folders will be slightly shaded out, but you can see them now.

Ctrl+Shift+Z toggles the entire UI. Additionally you can toggle cinematic mode in the options menu to show/hide gravity wells, icons, phase lanes, etc.

Okay, I did some digging, and some playing, I got it resolved. Path issue rather than view issue.

Still, the weird thing is, I was doing searches across all my hard drives and these folders in particular for the file names, and they weren't coming back in returns. That has me stumped.

They're system directories, Windows doesn't search inside them (even if you tell it the exact directory) unless you also tell it to not skip hidden files and folders.

Hi all,

If I go to said Ironclad directory, all I can see are the following folders:

Auto-record/auto save (for single and multiplayer)

Galaxy

Mods

Save (single and multi)

Settings

There are no screenshots in this folder. Trying to search my HD (in hidden/system files) for any files created today but can't find anything. I'm using the PrintScreen button to take screen shots (if briefly pauses as if it has taken a shot), but nothing.

Any ideas?

Change your key assignment for taking a screenshot. It did the same for me until I changed it to "]". "PrtScn" simply did not work.

In Vista my screenshots are in : C:\Users\[Your user name]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\ScreenShot

^Same thing as Anomandaris. I assume its a Vista issue of some kind.

Dito. The default PrintScreen keymapping doesn't work under Vista.
