Quick Question: Do all current maps have pirates?

I'm playing the medium 5 player map, with 50 planets, 5 stars. Forget the name. I made a bid once the first pirate attack warning came and won. But there was never a sword next to the AI's name. I don't want to keep wasting money if there are no pirates.

Most ones do! I remember playing one without (but don't remember the name) and 2 more are getting added in 1.02 :P

To tell quickly if there are pirates or not, just look at their portrait. If it's broken glass, that means they're not on the map. Likewise, broken glass over a player's/AI's portrait means they're defeated and out of the game.

Ugh! I can't believe I can't remember the name of that map either, the one with 4 stars around a central system right? I played that map so many times in beta...

Yes it does have pirates. Unless I'm mistaken, however, the pirate base is in the central system (at least it was in beta) and pirates jumping from system to system is still up in the air (I've seen it, but I've also heard accounts of it not working).

Systems of War is the name. Just jumped out and checked. And yep its the one you described. Was wrong bout the amount of players tho its 4. I assume the pirates are in the middle? Safe to assume I'm safe as long as I don't go into the middle?

And thanks for giving a list of the ones that don't have em.
