Introduction

Sins Enhanced is a planned multi part mod of Sins of the Solar Empire. The mod is designed to be as modular as possible so users can pick and choose the parts they want to enable or disable. This first edition deals with Stars and Sky boxes with aims of adding variety in the colors of both stars and their backgrounds. Example Images will be listed below.

I welcome any input from the community as to what they would like to see in color variety.

NEW Galaxy Spiral Texture Screenshots
The intent of the new galaxy spiral textures is to try and make them not look like a galaxy since galaxies are millions of stars, but the aim of these textures are to just have the star give off a kind of glow effect instead. These made need to be revised.

any estimates when the mod will be made available for downloading???


I was hoping to have atleast a beta version out about this time, but i ran into issues with my original textures i recolored and had to start from scratch again. Depending on how much time i have to work on these, i may have a beta version out by the end of the weekend. but i do have to work a real job also which comes first.

Alright now the Yellow background screenshots are up on post number one, Next thing i got to do before a beta release is to recolor and edit the galaxyspiral's. After that i will start packaging what i do have done right now so a beta release can be made and i can get your feedback on any issues that may arise.

no the .entity files, point to a .mesh file and in a .mesh files it will point to the actual texture which is located in the texture folder where you have sins installed at. For instance the planetgas0-cl.dds, planetgas0-da.dds or planetgas1-cl.dds or planetgas1-da.dds files would be the texures of the gas planets. Of course you will need some kind of editor like photoshop with the nvidia dds plugin.

Post #1 is updated again with new screen shots of the different galaxy textures, next version will be a name change from 0.5.2 alpha to 0.5.3 beta that will be packaged and uploaded sometime tonight, but given that sins download area requires approval it may not be ready to download for a day or two.

BTW, methinks you should combine these with other mods. I'd love to use this background on the Mars effect or a huge ass game with the Sins Encahncement mod. So, see if ya can't ask to combine with them?

Is this still available for download? The link says it can't be found. Or perhaps has someone else developed a similar mod? I love variety in a game like this.
