No Campain? plus some questions.

Hi all im new.

I was wondering why there isnt any Campain/Story? I kinda was expecting something like that for this game.The game is pretty cool but im kinda dissapointed that there isnt any in game Campain :( .

Curious,is there a way to make travel from one system to another faster? Phase jumping takes so long :( even with the research it still takes forever. Then again when i use the ingame map creator i make the maps Huge :) . The reason i make them so big is then i have some breathing room to gather resorces,research etc.

I was also wondering and i dont want to sound like a cheater but is there a way to make mining Crystal faster,like editing a file or something? I have boat loads of metal but mining Crystal takes so long. Just so ya know i never cheat in Online game or Multyplayer games,Dont want to get banned and it makes ya look lame.

Do all the races use the same tech,research tree,ships etc? I mean is there any benifit in playing the other races?

One last thing i have to say; AWSOME GAME DEVS!!! :P

Because Ironclad wanted to create a very complete and immersive sandbox mode. There wasn't much development time to create a very good campaign as well, so instead of doing something half-baked, they decided to hold off on it.

Do all the races use the same tech,research tree,ships etc? I mean is there any benifit in playing the other races?

The races share some very basic techs (ice/volcanic colonization, terran population upgrades, some manner of resource gathering upgrades, armor/shield/weapon upgrades), but most of the techs are unique. Same with ships - they may serve a similar role, but almost every ship has its own special ability (or more) that make the ships quite different.

So yes, there's a benefit to playing the other races.
