Where do I edit the .ini to raise the unit cap?

What is the option called to raise the unit cap in .ini file? Is it even possible to do that?

I'm not sure if you can modify the .ini directly for such a thing. At least I would hope not for online play sake, but you should be able to create a mod for something so simple using the Galaxy Forge tools. Someone else may post another solution, though.

Edit: Hm, the downloads page says Galaxy Forge is for building custom maps, but I thought it had mod tools, as well. Must research more.

There'll be further forge tools released that do more.

well, I was hoping to get more troops in single player without having to download a mod for it. I don't mind not having as much troops in multiplayer.

My problem is, if I had a game with say a hundred planets, I imagine my forces would be spread pretty thin. It doesn't matter as much for the small maps, but I would like a lot more ships for the larger maps.

To improve loading times, the converted the data to binary.

Changing the gameplay.constants file to allow more ships is possible, right now, but you'd probably also need to change the logistics research tree as well.

I'd just wait for the mod tools. Less likely to cause issues with the rest of the game, especially in terms of multiplayer.

Plus, in most games, if you change the ini file(s), you have to start a new mission/campaign/map for it to take effect.

Uploaded my unit cap mod to Database(HexEdit), but takes 5 days to show, anywhere else I can post the files.

Tried with the mod tools and game kept crashing on bootup so gave up.

Looks like it only too one day for Stardock to approve and post the file.

In the Mod Centre, below the direct link.
