I've found mid to late game most animations dont work for me, like attacking (firing weapons, shooting etc) dont work most times aswell as the phase jump animation (blue portal thing...) and then my ships didnt explode properly... they would remain there before turning into little pieces xD.

Go to C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting and open user.setting with notepad.

Change MaxParticleCount to something higher.

This will of course decrease performance during heavy firefights.

i thought they were adding an option for faster stuff (research, etc).

that would be kinda nice.

One thing i did notice is that the computer surrendered when I had them beat, instead of making me go all the way.

Go to C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting and open user.setting with notepad.

This File path doesnt work for me. I do not have the a folder called 'users' in my C file. I've checked both the sins folder and appdata folder under my name but fail to find "local" or otherwise anything after that. Is there a way of doing this from the normal Sins folder?

Thanks though.

The path is C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire

[Username] in the above mentioned path means, substitute what ever name that you log into you system with in it's place ex. C:\Documents and Settings\pdiddy\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad\Sins of a Solar Empire

Is there any workaround for the back market problem?

It's a lot more expensive buying 5 lots of 100 metal/crystal than it is buying one lot of 500...

Just wanted to say thank you for the job you doing on updating guys!

In the next update could you fix the whole Flagship deal...pretty please! :CONGRAT:

Yeah my old saved games before I updated won't load either, will we have to worry about this after every update? This game is really quite awesome, and I like being able to save such awesomeness.

Nope, the v1.02 update contains everything. ;)

IIRC, 11 megs, give or take.

I just remembered one more thing. Can rebels caused by you be made not to attack you like any ordinary pirate? Based on the tech description I expected them to help me out, not force me to atomize them.

could the computer AIs start out in a neutral state rather than hostile?

I don't log on to my computer. I just turn it on and it goes right to XP.

I did a quick save during a campaign in order to view it later to test the replay system. I named it nn, so the file in question is nn.record

Windows search comes up with no instance of this file, even though it is in the game and viewable.

I just woke up and realized!! Thank you~

Oh and I think new users don't know they have to use Stardock Central to Update the Game
End of quote

WHY

I have NO internet and there is NO mention of this on the box.
Why aren't the "patch" files simply uploaded to a server for easy dl like most games?

I walked into Frys and bought the box for $35. I do NOT have internet at home, and don't care to mess with it. I bought the game as a single player game, and have ZERO INTENTIONS of mingling with onliners.

Stardock was nice enough to upload the 1.6 update for DA for me mid last year...... I guess I'll wait to play this thing until the 3rd or 4th patch comes around... and I hope Stardock is willing to host the patch for me so I can dl it from work (where I do have net).

What is SO hard about purchasing some webspace and a decent amount of bandwidth so your PAYING customers can easily go to said webspace, dl the "patch", and then patch the game like 90% of the game market does.

At least Stardock is a good company willing to help their customers out... no luck with Microgay and their BS!! I bought Rise of Legends in the store.. legitimately... come to find out I "must have net" in order to freaking patch the bloody game.

And they're telling me I'm screwed until I get net on the machine I have the game installed on.

WHY don't developers put a label on the box that lists THIS REQUIREMENT!!!!!!!!

There is a specific section for this on EVERY BOX of EVERY GAME... why is it not USED?!!!!! why why

why

I concur with the above poster. I do not have net on the machine with the game installed and it would be nice if patch files were provided.

Because there's no annoying copy protection built into the game itself. The copy protection is simply access control so that you can only download the game using Stardock Central.

It does seem a bit daunting if you don't have internet at home, but actually things aren't really much worse than for any other game if you're in that situation. The only difference is that you would install the SDC client where you had internet access instead of using Internet Explorer. Then once the latest version of the game downloads you use the "Archive" function to bundle it up to go on your CD or USB stick to take home.

The disadvantages are that downloads are more likely to be of the complete game rather than just the smaller patch file and you may have difficulty getting permission to install on public computers.

I'm sure Mr Wardell could work out something to remove these disadvantages for a later version of SDC. I would suggest having SDC create a web-page that you save to disc and take to your public internet connection and open in a standard browser in order to cause it to send your credentials to the download server to give you a menu of your patches. Then send the patches you need, perhaps encrypted. You then deliver the files to your home copy of SDC which patches the game for you.

Greetings all,

I'm hoping for a bit of help on this. I am currently deployed to Iraq and cannot gain access to any website that would permit a download of the Sins update; many websites are blocked on government internet. Is there a possibility I could get someone to email the file to my email address? Not the link, but the actual file. I'm allowed to download items onto my gov computer, I just can't install it or acess the site itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated...I'd like to enjoy the game on my personal computer along with the update!

My address is: [email protected]

Thanks very much!

Can i have one too? I have an online savegame of a match that's been going on for about 9 hours now, and it wont let me log in ICO without updating
End of quote

Yea and I have one for about 20 hours. Single player so I'll save that till I reinstall it. Which will be a long time. Since I like the updates

-Fix bug where skybox is always the same.
End of quote

This still happens. Whenever I load a savegame - no matter which map - the skybox is the same every time.

I just downloaded the v 1.02 update. I am trying the game now and now the game wont let my ships phase jump. I havent been able to get past this problem. Also in the map editor, when I preview a game the game starts me off without a player. What should I do?
