Where are the phase lanes to other stars? How do you get through Worm holes?

Im playing as a TEC player and I have a trade, ship sight and planet sight pacts with another civilization. While I can see my ships and theirs traveling from star to star I cant see the phase lane in order to travel it with my fleets. What gives?

Are you in cinematic mode by chance? try toggling that on or off.

There are techs for long-range jumps (allows your ships to jump to different stars) and wormholes. Have you researched them?
