Nobody can reply with any precise technical hypothesis if you limit yourself to such a very general and vague description.

I have been playing that game since the June 2007 beta version, and I have never experienced what you describe.

My hypothesis is that there is something problematical within your computer, but since you give no technical info whatsoever concerning your machine and in what program environment* it is trying to run the game, it is impossible to answer you.

* By "program environment", I refer to such things, for example, as : Do you run background programs (such as an antivirus) that might interfere with the game program? Do you regularly scan and clean your computer to free it of malware (viruses, trojans, adware, spyware, etc.)?

Did you restart the computer before loading it back up? Are you aware of the temps inside your computer? Are your video drivers up to date? Sound drivers? Have you defragged your hard drive? Run a reg cleaner like ccleaner? What are your specs?

The list goes on.

I hear ya...i have a XPS 720 Quad-core nVidia 8800 GT and it still crashes quit often. i usually run music in the background but it shouldn't do that this much. I need to rmeember to save every five minutes or else. This a glitch? Fixing anytime soon or did this last patch today fix it?
Thanks.

Well, there isn't a temperature file per se. Your best bet is to download Everest. The free version will be fine. It'll show you your cpu and gpu temps. Those are the two most important. Unfortunately, you can't check it in game, but when it crashes, take note of the temps. (If you are getting 80+ on the gpu, you're frying your video card; CPUs shouldn't be in the 50s)

A quick way of checking to see if you are having heat issues, is to simply take off the door to your pc. If things work fine, then you have heat issues.

I by no means think this is definitely your issue, just a possible one.

Honestly, that could be a dell issue. First off, what program are you running in the background? Something like winamp can use up to 13% of your cpu power. What else is running in the background? Dell puts on a few (useless) programs that load up during startup. Perhaps disabling them will help.

More importantly, you're probably running Vista and god help us all because the issue with vista can come from anywhere . . .

My game crashed when it was on Highest settings for everything... Check if your's are the same. If they are, lower them

Did it happen when a lot of ships were on the screen or something like that. if so then turn down graphics.

The only thing I have running is McAfee security and it is vista. I HATE vista with a a passion. But thanks for the reply. Hopefully it will get fixed soon:)

Oh yeah I did have my graphics on highest everything because that's what my PC is for as stated above. But it happens on a 6 planet map with 2 players...so i don't get that. Since then i played a 10 player Multiplayer with 5 humans/5 comps and it was fine for 3 hours until we all saved and quit.

If your computer crashes simply because its been set to highest, thats odd...

Make sure you have Vista hotfix 940105 installed. Sins crashed constantly on my system without it.

My system is top of the line. I ran 1.01 perfectly with no issues. 6+ hour games finished with no problem.

1.02 patch and as I stated in another thread, the game crashes 10+ minutes in every time. The game is unplayable in 1.02 at this time for me.

Windows XP
Quad Core Q6600
8800 GTS
4 GB of Ram (Capped by XP at whatever)

Full settings on everything. I had no problems in 1.01, not a single issue.

I rather think im having the same trouble after the v1.02 patch.

vista
quad core d6600
twin 8800 ultras in sli
2 gig ram

full settings.

Repeated crashing to windows happening. :( Just when I wsa getting a handle on the game. Oh well back to Crysis. Which is working jus fine ;)
