Phase Jump Inhibitors

After one complete playthrough in a 1v1 against the AI, I have a very strong negative feeling about the way phase jump inhibitors are implemented in the game. I understand they are just meant to delay, but in practice any delay they provide is minimal. against the ai I had these things deployed all over the place, and in no way shape or form did it serve to delay the phase jumping parade in the slightest,.

What I suggest is that these be upgradeable (perhaps they already are, in which case please ignore). make deploying the highest upgrade (a pji that completely halts all enemy traffic through the system until it is destroyed) particularly costly, and make it count against the capital ship total. and/or make it an either/or with the super weapon, i.e. so long as you have a fully upgraded PJI no super weapon for you.

any thoughts on this?

I wouldn't say that. It only came out a week ago.

I can tell you that the idea you proposed used to be in beta and was removed because of issues balancing them against superweapons.

The only thing we don't know yet is how PJI's are going to be changed.

There's been a lot of interesting proposals, including yours, and we're all hoping for the best on the final decision. :)

Yeah based on the outpouring of negativity toward the current implementation (I wasn't particularly fond of either implementation in beta either though..) I would imagine that we will see some change in the next patch.
