[Bug][1.0x][Vasari; Vulkator Desolator; Siege Platform]

Firstly, my apologies if this has already been addressed. I did a search for "siege platform" to see if this had already been posted that came back with nothing.

I believe I have found a bug or two with the "Deploy Siege Platform" ability from the Vasari Vulkator Desolator.

1. When the ability "Deploy Siege Platform" is set to autocast, Siege Platforms are deployed beyond their firing range, rendering them useless and a waste of antimatter. This seems to happen because the Desolator deploys the Siege Platforms when it itself enters bombardment range, wherein the maximum bombardment range of the Desolator is greater than the maximum range of the Siege Platform. I further tested this by setting the ability to manual control, moved my Desolator as close as possible to an enemy Planet then manually deployed a Siege Platform, after which both the Desolator and the Siege Platform began bombardment since they were both in range.

2. I don't particularly see what upgrading the ability "Deploy Siege Platform" does. For each level upgrade the tooltip reads the same statistics. For example, going from Level 1 to Level 2 shows the following:

Antimatter: 100 > 100
Cooldown: 55 > 55
Range: 2600 > 2600

Well if the ability is like the TEC missile platform, then it should do more damage. Problem is the game doesn't list bombing damage much.

Yep, should do more damage and also be tougher. Haven't tested.

This explains why the AI deploys useless bombardment platforms. I was wondering about that.

Ironically it worked in Beta 4 when they shot pirate bombs.

Thanks for the specific upgrade info, archpsi. It sure would be swell if the tooltip reflected those numbers in some manner.

Yeap, autocast of the platforms doesn't work (they don't fire)

They're placed too far from the target

One needs to place them manually for them to work
