Missing Phase Lanes/Status

I seem to be having a problem where my Phase Lanes are invisible whether I'm in cinematic mode or not, and yes Phase Lanes are on in the user interface menu. I'm also missing the statistics on my units and planets. For Example where you'd normally see something like

Shield 1000/1000

Mine says Shield /1000 with no report on what the actual level is, just the maximum.

Everything was fine and I could see the lanes until I set the ship and building mapping to high. However, I reverted back to low and the problem still remains.

I have the same problem, but it was normal when I was playing the tutorials. I then installed the 1.02 patch before realising that since I had dled the game I shouldn't have needed to.
Don't know if thats relevant.
