Custom Quad Core PC Build Help

Custom Quad Core PC Build Help

I read through the other custom build post and I would still like to do a quad core build. With that being said would you all mind giving me your opinions on this build. Eventually I do plan on getting a second video card, hence the big power supply.

Newegg.com - Why oh why do they have to have a warehouse in TN.  :SNIFF!:

The Q is slower on single-core, it's slower on dual core. The only possible advantage is in games that use quad cores and that would be absolutely 0. Sure it'll run, but a Celeron M will run them as well.

Well thanks for all the additional info guys, I don't want flame wars started over this. To clear some things up I do plan on doing level editing once I get this thing up and I do want a quad-core, so I will wait and grab the Q9450. However with that said, would the upgrade to a DDR3 ram capable motherboard be worth it? Also while I may overclock said processor, it is not a for sure thing.

Well, for the moment, DDR3 isnt quite worth it. The modules are still quite expensive compared to the DDR2 modules. For the moment it might not be worth it in my opinion. DDR2 should be plenty fast. The Q9450 should be alright as well since you might not plan on overclocking. Although it is a bit more expensive I think.

You can get boards that run DDR2 and DDR3.

Thanks again guys, I'll do some more research into what board to get and I'll look into a board that runs DDR2 and DDR3 so I have the ability to upgrade when the prices drop. Thanks again all. This has helped a lot.
