Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.

  

 

The mod will be built in 2 halves.  The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment.  The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.

Thanks Tharios - Just incase everyone doesnt know, I have been part of the SGI mod team now for about a month. Not long but I have been busy.

Riser38 so far.....

Done before mod and now being used -  Prometheus, Ancient Warship & Ancient Cruiser.

Done this month - Tau'ri Trade Station, Tau'ri Frigate Shipyard, Asgard Research Station & Zephyr Cruiser.

Working on now - Tau'ri Research Station, Nyx Cruiser, Asgard Trade Station & Lantean Defense Satellite.

 

Again we are all working really hard - All of 4 of us :)

Yes but no.  The human models are coming along, texturing all of them is another story.  Id say we have most of the models done, have probably... oh... 95% models done, and textures are about 50%.  Research trees are done for the Humans, I do believe, but would have to check in with Derbal on that one.

Nice job.  The enemy missile salvos looked a little wierd at impact as they were hitting the front shield and overshooting the ship but I'm sure that's because they were fired as the ship came in and so the game has them impact there despite the ship facing the other way by the time they reach it.  It certainly looks promising.

It looks nice, but the gun flares on the X-302 are WAY to large for the ship. They're at least a third of the size of the ship.

I would say tone them down to about a fifth of their current size. Still fairly pronounced, but it doesn't look like the ship was blown apart. ^_^

I have not seen the design, but if its for the Humans, Im sorry to tell you this, but it will not be added.  We have a complete list of ships with designs now, so adding another ship would throw off the balance.

Evening All,

As Paperboy asked before ealrier in the week "you said something about a nyx cruiser?"

Here it is, the original design of this ship was done by Mallacore. After getting permission from Mallacore and some reference pictures I was able to put this together this week.

Hey just watcherd the video and it really does look like a Stargate battle. A few things i have noticed is that human ships, when they get hit their shields are like blue not yellow. Also great job on the mod so far i may not have been posting but i have been watching. Another point i have is that the Asuran starbase should be a City ship instead of it being a normal ship. Tho it should be like the Vasari starbase in the sence that it can move around the system

A cityship would not work, IMO.  Atlantis is capable of Hyperspace travel, so a Starbase that is a Cityship wouldnt work in that sense, again IMO.  We havent gotten to the Asurans fully yet, but when we do, their Starbase will be worked on to look how we feel an Asuran Starbase would look.  Thanks for the watch.

I know that you said that you wern't giving a release date, but do you think that it will be done before or after this fall? Also how far all together are you done with the game. This is my dream game I love stargate and I cant wait for it to come out it'll be spectacular no matter what. Just imagine Atlantis shredding a 100 wraith darts. I cant wait:] Your my hero for making this.

Just curious, are you guys giving the humans Asgard beam weapons?  I saw the video (it looked awesome) and noticed only rails and warheads.

They do have beam weapons, in the video and late pictures the Asgard Weapons havent been researched yet.

 

 

As for a release date, still not set.  Cant say how much is done, how much is left to do, that sort of thing.  Still in the process of completing the upgrade to Entrenchment, once that is done, we are going to go full steam into getting the mod ready for release.

It's not only a lot of work, it's downright confusing.  Even with a standard and merged version(s) of my mod for Entrenchment I find myself making mistakes trying to keep them in sync update-wise.  I shudder at the thought of adding two (probably more since vanilla requires more merge versions) more vanilla codebases to try to keep in sync.  Only the vanilla ones don't even have the same formatting which makes it even worse.

I don't like the idea of leaving vanilla players out in the cold so to speak by modding for Entrenchment only but when your project gets to a certain size, complexity makes things far more unwieldly.  It can be enough to make your head nearly explode.  I'm sure EO feels the same way and I completely understand his decision to go Entrenchment only at this point.

When did you start doing this mod? Also will the lantian asuan ships be the most powerful, but just cost alot more. Where will Atlantis be in the ship list, like capital ship, frigate, or a superweapon type thing?
