I know you got the races set, but pirates...they could be the travlers and you could throw in an Aurora class ship in there for their capital class ships or something.

We have our Pirates set.  When they are done, you will get a sneek peak at them, until then, mum is the word.

I saw that image aswell an thought the hive is far to small, but think about it, if it was made that large i would barly be able to move in the grav well.

We are well Aware of the size of the Daedalus to the Hive, and they are scaled to each other, whether it looks like it or not.

Possibly the greatest Human ship ever.

 

Think about the legend of Arthur and Excalibur and the power Excalibur gave Arthur. Excalibur is one of the greatest, most powerful mythological weapons of all time. So the Humans, in attempt to recreate this fantastic power named their strongest ship after the sword, showing all that this ship was the best of the fleet and was to be feared.

 

*Note: This in no way is meant to represent the actual reason behind the name Excalibur and is purely my interpretation of it.*

btw I like how real your keeping it,  will the earth ships have the beam weapons? or drones?  Is there a way to get an ancient ruins and get a limited time bonus... Im obviously not a coder so please dont chase me out with feral cats

The earth ships will NOT be getting drones. Many of them will, however, after research be getting beam weapons. These are currently in the form of abilities that have low antimatter costs.

i noticed on your update photos, the darkened ship on the last photo kinda looks like a reversed kol battleship symbol

thats enough factions and lets be real: ori don't have enough ships and too little is known in general. + they would own all but the humans/asgard so whats the point.

Asgard only have 3 ships know, 4 if you include the lost tribe.

But then again, with them you can go for an more unique style with very few multi ship types.

ya know, I almost wish you guys were not as active on here to replies so you can get the mod finished! =p It loooks sexy!!  I mean holy cow you been working on this mod forever, Yes I believe it will be like a cannon'd mod here but damn...btw if I could find someone intrested in making a mod like this for another game I play would you be willing to send them the modles? Im not sure if they would be able to use them for another game of how that would work out and Im sure they would be more then willing to give credit for the modles...(the game is SeV btw)

We do more then just post here.  I personally have 2 monitors so I can multi-task very well.  tbh, there is alot more that prevents us from completing the mod faster.  1 is not having a full time texture artist, as I havent heard from Kosher in awhile, 2 we have real lives.  3/4 of us go to school, and the rest of us work full time jobs, plus I have somehow managed to keep my girlfriend for the last year and a half and Im still wondering how as I make models a lot of the time.  As for porting over the models to this other game of yours... At the moment, it would be a no.  Not to be mean at all, just right now I have been having problems with models for other games, and not getting permission/credit for them.

Do you planning to change the musics and sounds too? I have a full atlantis & sg-1 soundtrack pack so if you need some music, I would gladly help. This mod looks really good so far, do you want to do open or closed beta-testing?
