Stargate Invasion is a total conversion mod for Sins of a Solar Empire: Entrenchment and Diplomacy . As of this time, there is no FINAL release date yet for this mod.

The mod will be built in 2 halves.  The first is the Pegasus side, I.E. Humans, Wraith and Asurans, with the Pirates being a classified race at the moment.  The second part of the mod, will add in the Asgard and Goa'uld races to the mix, we will even be creating a separate version of the mod as well, which will just be Humans, Asgard and Goa'uld, with the Lucien Alliance as the Pirates for that half.

So.. when does this mod come out?

Lol kidding. Everything is looking great so far, I've been watching the progress from deviantart for a while.

LOL! I didn't even see the black part until I quoted it, but great way to break the tension! One of the few times tone has come through on the internet :)

Evening all,

Last week I decided to take a little break from modelling. It has been pretty much 16 months straight of modelling. In this time I have made 57 models for the SGI mod that’s almost 1 a week. It has been a little tougher to come up with new ideas in the last few weeks. So I have decided to have a look at the code of SOASE. I had previously coded Star Trek: Armada 2. Any who I made what I think to be a bit of a break through tonight and I believe I will be able to create a custom SGI in game dashboard. What I would like from yourselves is a quick poll of what resolution do you play SOASE at? As I will have to test the layout works in most sizes.

Thanks in advance

just to upset you I have  just about all sizes from 1024x768 to 1920x1080, but SOME people will want it to work with the netbook mod which is 1024x600

Hi,

Thank you all for your information, I myself run at 1824 x 1026 so will test at this rez & 1024 x 768. Then it should be fine for everyone. Now for it running on netbooks I'm not even sure if the mod will run, so we will have to cross that bridge. JT is trying to hold myself & eomega back on our detailed models as the engine is shows some lagging issues on some systems. I'm quad-core with 8800GTX :) so not sure if netbooks are going to like it.

So below is my first crack at a custom SGI front-end menu

Enjoy

1366x768 resolution here... great work so far!

I have a very crappy video card(integrated radeon 3200) but a decent processor(quad core @ 1.8ghz) with 4 gb ram and the game runs fine. There shouldn't be any issues running the mod aside the normal sins problem of slowdowns and crashes late game due to memory issues, which will hopefully be solved by the inclusion of the sins optimization project.

Video looks good... the only thing that stood out was the smoke trails of the missiles.  They seem to go on forever.

Are you going to add the asgard beam weapons to any of the humans ships?

End of StarTrekFreak's quote

It has already been done! On several Tauri ships .  As well as Asgard pulse weapons and even ancient Lagarian Beam weapons.
