Anyone making a "Space Above and Beyond" Mod?

This might age me a little bit, but I think this game is a perfect fit for Space above and beyond.

'Chigs' - Vasarri
Silicates 'AI' - Advent
Space Navy- TEC

If anyone is working on one great, if not... i'd like to create a team to make one.

For those of you who don't know what Space Above and Beyond is, it was a very well funded and followed sci-fi show from the mid 90's. I believe that one of the reasons to its demise was not ratings, but the fact that episodes were costing more then any other scifi show ever created.

As i see it, the main issue with creating a Space Above and Beyond (of which i am a fan) mod, is that from what i can recall there are a fairly limited selection of ships shown. so some of it would have to be made up but keeping with the aesthetic of the races (especially so the silicates if you want them as a playable race, though personally i think a pirate-esque role would be more suited for them)

Good point about the silicates acting as a pirate role reusing space navy technology. But I guess you are right, there was only a limited amount of ships displayed. However there were enough referenced and talked about that it might be worth a look into.

Again its mostly a lack of models keeping it down. The rest of it would be pretty simple.

There was an episode where you could see the bulk of Earth forces fleet( Sugar dirt episode ), chigs had one capital ship that i can recall( pilot movie ), i also remember one small transporter ( farthest man from home episode ). Not enough to mod it i think.

Would be a cool project if a team can be formed. I liked the series a lot.

BTW: We have a major mod project thread pinned in the mod forum. If you do start a team please post relevant info into it so I can update it accordingly.

The Chigs would be pee-easy to make, methinks, their ships were (IIRC) largely just geometric pyramids.

This mod would be awsome! i actually just watched the entire series again last week..lol.. id help in modding but ive got school and work already filling my plate for the summer

Would be a great mod. Loved the show. Maybe just design your own ships from what was in the show?
