Camera that follow an element...drives me crazy !

Hi my friends !

I have a little trouble, that might become a big concern soon, as it's driving me crazy.

Right now, when I zoom in somewhere, if my cursor is on a moving element (trade ship & such), then it will automatically scroll the screen to follow what's under it.

So I have a question :

Can I keep the "Zoom to cursor" feature, which is great, and stop how it's acting when there's a ship under it ?

That's pretty annoying especially when you target a moving enemy ship, and try to shift-click the other vessels...not very precise :-/

Any idea ?

I posted about this the other day... currently as far as i know. THere is no way to disable it. Coded in to prevent us from zooming in past the planetary plane....

Drives me crazy also when zoming in on my fleet that is moving and is engaged in combat..

Try going into your camera.settings file and setting

zoomToCursorLocksOnMovingEntities to FALSE, it shouldn't stick on the targets.

Vista:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire\Setting

and look for the file called "camera.setting"

cheers :)

I think the auto-attach is cool, but if it causes people problems there should be a toggle. I never want to fly the camera around HW-style, but when the screen is full of objects it IS really hard to zoom in a given direction without becoming attached to something.
